And if thou shouldst follow their desires after the knowledge which hath come unto thee, then surely wert thou of the evil-doers.” (2:145) 00:06:29.620 --> 00:06:35.329 Even if you, O Muhammad, were to bring the Jews and Christians every proof and argument 00:06:36.329 --> 00:06:38.329 that the truth is what you have brought them, 00:06:38.329 --> 00:06:42.329 regarding the obligation to turn from the Qiblah of Bayt al-Maqdis in prayer 00:06:43.329 --> 00:06:45.329 to the Qiblah of the Sacred Mosque, 00:06:46.329 --> 00:06:50.329 they would not believe in it nor follow it, despite the proof having been fully established against them. 00:06:51.329 --> 00:06:54.329 Nor do you have any way, O Muhammad, to follow their Qiblah; 00:06:55.329 --> 00:06:59.329 this is because the Jews face Bayt al-Maqdis in their prayers, 00:07:00.329 --> 00:07:02.329 while the Christians face the east. 00:07:02.329 --> 00:07:08.329 How, then, could you follow their Qiblah when their directions are completely at odds? 00:07:09.329 --> 00:07:12.329 Therefore, adhere strictly to your own Qiblah toward which you were commanded to face. 00:07:13.329 --> 00:07:15.329 The Jews will never follow the Qiblah of the Christians, 00:07:16.329 --> 00:07:19.329 nor will the Christians ever follow the Qiblah of the Jews. 00:07:20.329 --> 00:07:24.329 And if you, O Muhammad, were to seek the pleasure of these Jews and Christians 00:07:25.329 --> 00:07:27.329 after the divine knowledge that has reached you— 00:07:27.329 --> 00:07:31.329 knowing that they persist in falsehood and stubborn defiance of the truth— 00:07:32.329 --> 00:07:36.329 you would then be among the servants who wrong their own souls, 00:07:37.329 --> 00:07:40.329 defying My command and abandoning obedience to Him. 00:07:41.329 --> 00:07:49.870 "Those to whom We gave the Scripture recognize it as they recognize their own sons." 00:07:50.870 --> 00:07:55.870 “Those unto whom We gave the Scripture recognise (this revelation) as they recognise their sons. But lo! a party of them knowingly conceal the truth.” (2:146) 00:07:55.870 --> 00:07:57.870 "...while they know." 00:07:58.870 --> 00:08:04.319 These rabbis of the Jews and scholars of the Christians know 00:08:05.319 --> 00:08:10.319 that the Sacred House is their true Qiblah, the Qiblah of Ibrahim, and the Qiblah of the prophets before you, 00:08:11.319 --> 00:08:13.319 just as they recognize their own sons. 00:08:14.319 --> 00:08:16.319 Yet a faction among the Jews and Christians 00:08:17.319 --> 00:08:24.319 deliberately conceal the Qiblah toward which Allah, Glorified and Sublime, directed His Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him; 00:08:24.319 --> 00:08:28.319 along with that, they have also concealed the mission of Muhammad, peace be upon him, 00:08:29.319 --> 00:08:33.320 even though they find it written with them in the Torah and the Gospel. 00:08:34.320 --> 00:08:41.320 So Allah, Glorified and Sublime, revealed to Muhammad, peace be upon him, and his Ummah their betrayal and concealment of that, 00:08:42.320 --> 00:08:45.320 while they know full well they have no right to conceal it; 00:08:46.320 --> 00:08:49.320 thus they deliberately disobey Allah, Blessed and Exalted. 00:08:50.320 --> 00:08:57.509 "The truth is from your Lord, so never be among the doubters." 00:08:59.340 --> 00:09:06.340 Know, O Muhammad, that the truth is what your Lord has taught you, not what the Jews and Christians say to you. 00:09:07.340 --> 00:09:13.340 So act upon the truth, and never be among those who doubt that the Qiblah toward which I directed you 00:09:14.340 --> 00:09:17.340 is the Qiblah of Ibrahim, My intimate friend, peace be upon him, 00:09:17.340 --> 00:09:19.340 and the Qiblah of all the other prophets. 00:09:40.570 --> 00:09:43.110 Every religious community has a direction 00:09:44.110 --> 00:09:47.110 toward which all of them turn their faces. 00:09:48.110 --> 00:09:52.110 So hasten and race to perform good deeds in gratitude to your Lord; 00:09:53.110 --> 00:09:56.110 for in whatever place or land you perish, 00:09:57.110 --> 00:09:59.110 Allah will bring you all together on the Day of Resurrection, 00:10:00.110 --> 00:10:03.110 along with whoever opposed your Qiblah, your religion, and your sacred law, 00:10:04.110 --> 00:10:08.110 so that the doer of good may be fully requited for his good deeds, and the evildoer for his evil deeds. 00:10:09.110 --> 00:10:13.110 Indeed, Allah is fully capable of gathering you after your death. 00:10:32.559 --> 00:10:35.039 And from whatever place you set out, 00:10:36.039 --> 00:10:38.039 turn your face, O Muhammad; 00:10:39.039 --> 00:10:40.039 for facing toward it 00:10:41.039 --> 00:10:44.039 is indeed the undoubted truth from your Lord. 00:10:45.039 --> 00:10:46.039 So maintain it steadfastly, 00:10:47.039 --> 00:10:49.039 and obey Allah in turning toward His Qiblah. 00:10:50.039 --> 00:10:54.039 For Allah is not oblivious to your deeds, nor is He heedless of them, 00:10:55.039 --> 00:11:00.039 but He records them for you so that He may recompense you for them on the Day of Resurrection. 00:11:09.419 --> 00:11:24.419 “Whencesoever thou comest forth turn thy face toward the Inviolable Place of Worship; and wheresoever ye may be (O Muslims) turn your faces toward it (when ye pray) so that men may have no argument against you, save such of them as do injustice - Fear them not, but fear Me! Give thanks to Me, and reject not Me.” (2:152) 00:14:00.019 --> 00:14:06.539 So remember Me through your obedience to Me in what I command you and what I forbid you; 00:14:07.539 --> 00:14:10.539 I shall remember you with My mercy and My forgiveness for you. 00:14:11.539 --> 00:14:16.539 And be grateful to Me, O believers, for the blessings of Islam and guidance I have bestowed upon you, 00:14:17.539 --> 00:14:19.539 and do not deny My benevolence toward you, 00:14:19.539 --> 00:14:22.539 lest I strip you of the blessing I have conferred upon you; 00:14:23.539 --> 00:14:28.539 rather, show gratitude to Me, and I will increase you and complete My favor upon you. 00:14:30.240 --> 00:14:36.240 “O ye who believe! Seek help in steadfastness and prayer. Lo!
