Surah al-Inshiqaq
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
And peace and blessings be upon the Seal of the Prophets and Messengers.
And upon his family and all his Companions.
We are still engaged in our brief commentary on the personal profile cards.
And we have reached Surah al-Inshiqaq.
I wish to pause over this passage to highlight three key lessons.
The first pause concerns the context and placement of the surah.
Here, he provided a summary of what he previously discussed.
Al-Imam al-Suyuti, in his book *Tanasuq al-Durar*,
that these four surahs
Surah Al-Inshiqaq, along with the surahs that precede it,
Al-Infitar, then Al-Takwir—excuse me.
Then al-Infitar, then al-Mutaffifin.
Then [the mention of] the splitting asunder.
He mentioned that its order
It is fully consistent with the events mentioned therein.
By considering its occurrence
On the Day of Resurrection
And his statements on this matter may be reviewed and verified.
It is a domain for deep reflection, so offer sincere counsel to everyone.
Continually advancing and increasing, so that one may turn back to him for guidance.
However, we should pause here to consider these two surahs.
Surahs al-Inshiqaq and al-Mutaffifin—notice, my brothers,
In Surah al-Inshiqaq, Allah says: "O human being!"
“Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence).” (84:6)
"Will encounter..." means: will encounter Allah.
I stand by what al-Tabari concluded.
Thus, "meeting Allah" immediately reminds us
Referring to the statement of Allah Almighty in Surah Al-Mutaffifin, "The Day when..."
...to the Lord of the worlds.
So what happens here? He says, "Then he will meet..."
"Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand,"
Then he will surely receive an easy reckoning.
It is as though this surah
It continues the progression of events on the Day of Resurrection.
Then, the second pause.
There is another relationship between the two surahs.
The truth is that the interconnections between the surahs are numerous.
In Surah Al-Mutaffifin, He said:
“Nay, but the record of the righteous is in 'Illiyin -” (83:18)
And before that, He said: "No! Indeed, the record of the wicked..."
Is surely in Sijjin.
He then elaborated on this point in Surah al-Inshiqaq.
Regarding every person receiving their book.
"Then as for the one who is given his record in his right hand,"
As for the one who is given his record behind his back,
As for the third and final point of reflection:
As is well known to you, they say that it is long.
It contains many events.
And instead of Allah mentioning to us
All the events of the Day of Resurrection are contained within a single surah.
Distribute it in this manner.
Which causes the heart to become preoccupied.
when reading every Surah
concerning a specific event or specific events
Without my being engrossed in all the events
in a single surah
This leads us to pay attention
Each event individually
When reading the Surah that mentioned him
This is more impactful and has a greater effect on the heart and actions.
“Should He not know what He created? And He is the Subtile, the Aware.” (67:14)
