For disbelievers We prepare a shameful doom;” (4:37) 00:02:21.729 --> 00:02:27.729 ◁and We have prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating punishment.▷ 00:02:27.729 --> 00:02:32.340 And Allah does not love those who are arrogant and boastful, 00:02:32.340 --> 00:02:37.340 who are stingy in disclosing what Allah commanded them to make clear to the people 00:02:37.340 --> 00:02:45.340 regarding the name of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), his description, and his character, which He revealed in His scriptures to His prophets, 00:02:45.340 --> 00:02:47.340 even though they know it fully well; 00:02:47.340 --> 00:02:50.340 and they command the people who possess this knowledge 00:02:50.340 --> 00:02:54.340 to conceal what Allah commanded them to clarify to them. 00:02:54.340 --> 00:03:03.340 And We have prepared for those who deny Allah's favor—namely, the knowledge of the prophethood of Muhammad (peace be upon him)—a humiliating punishment. 00:03:03.340 --> 00:03:10.689 “And (also) those who spend their wealth in order to be seen of men, and believe not in Allah nor the Last Day. And if ye be ill, or on a journey, or one of you cometh from the closet, or ye have touched women, and ye find not water, then go to high clean soil and rub your faces and your hands (therewith). Lo! Allah is Benign, Forgiving.” (4:43) 00:07:14.819 --> 00:07:18.360 O you who have believed in Allah and His Messenger, 00:07:18.360 --> 00:07:23.360 do not approach the mosques to perform prayer therein while you are intoxicated, 00:07:23.360 --> 00:07:27.360 until you know what you are saying in your prayer; 00:07:27.360 --> 00:07:32.360 nor in a state of major ritual impurity (janabah)—until you have bathed—unless you are passing through. 00:07:32.360 --> 00:07:37.360 And if you are ill with a wound or smallpox while in a state of major ritual impurity, 00:07:37.360 --> 00:07:41.360 or if you are traveling and healthy yet in major ritual impurity, 00:07:41.360 --> 00:07:46.360 or one of you comes from relieving himself while on a journey and in good health, 00:07:46.360 --> 00:07:50.360 or you have had marital relations with women and wish to pray, 00:07:50.360 --> 00:07:53.360 and you seek water to purify yourselves with, 00:07:53.360 --> 00:07:57.360 but do not find it, whether for a price or otherwise, 00:07:57.360 --> 00:08:01.360 then seek clean, barren earth that is free of vegetation, 00:08:01.360 --> 00:08:05.360 level and pure from filth and impurities, 00:08:05.360 --> 00:08:08.360 and wipe your faces and hands with it. 00:08:08.360 --> 00:08:12.360 Indeed, Allah has always been Pardoning of the sins of His servants, 00:08:12.360 --> 00:08:16.360 and leaves unpunished many of them so long as they do not associate partners with Him. 00:08:32.840 --> 00:08:36.350 Have you not seen with your heart, O Muhammad, 00:08:36.350 --> 00:08:40.350 those who were given a portion of the Book of Allah and knew it, 00:08:40.350 --> 00:08:42.350 purchasing error? 00:08:42.350 --> 00:08:46.350 They are the Jews who were given a portion of the Scripture; 00:08:46.350 --> 00:08:50.350 they choose misguidance, and these Jews desire 00:08:50.350 --> 00:08:55.350 that you, O companions of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), go astray 00:08:55.350 --> 00:08:58.799 from the straight path and the clear highway of truth. 00:09:07.799 --> 00:09:13.220 And Allah knows better than you do the enmity of these Jews toward you. 00:09:13.220 --> 00:09:16.220 So in Allah, O believers, place your trust, 00:09:16.220 --> 00:09:18.220 and upon Him rely, 00:09:18.220 --> 00:09:22.220 and sufficient is Allah as a helper for you against your enemies. 00:09:37.730 --> 00:09:43.730 ◁Hear, may you not hear, and say 'Raina', twisting their tongues▷ 00:09:43.730 --> 00:09:49.730 “Some of those who are Jews change words from their context and say: "We hear and disobey; hear thou as one who heareth not" and "Listen to us!" distorting with their tongues and slandering religion. But Allah hath cursed them for their disbelief, so they believe not, save a few.” (4:46) 00:10:05.730 --> 00:10:10.299 ◁and they do not believe except a few.▷ 00:10:10.299 --> 00:10:15.299 Have you not seen those who were given a portion of the Scripture among those who are Jews, 00:10:15.299 --> 00:10:21.299 who distort words from their meanings and alter them from their proper contexts and applications? 00:10:21.299 --> 00:10:27.299 And among those who are Jews are those who say, "We hear your words, O Muhammad, and disobey your command; 00:10:27.299 --> 00:10:30.299 and hear from us, may you never hear," 00:10:30.299 --> 00:10:33.299 like the statement of a person insulting a man: 00:10:33.299 --> 00:10:35.299 "Hear, may Allah never let you hear!" 00:10:35.299 --> 00:10:39.299 And: "Lend us your ear, and understand from us and make us understand," 00:10:39.299 --> 00:10:46.299 twisting with their tongues to distort the meaning into its derogatory sense, 00:10:46.299 --> 00:10:52.299 out of contempt for the right of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and slander against the religion. 00:10:52.299 --> 00:10:57.460 And if only these Jews whom Allah described 00:10:57.460 --> 00:10:59.460 had said to the Prophet of Allah: 00:10:59.460 --> 00:11:03.460 "We hear your words, O Muhammad, and obey your command," 00:11:03.460 --> 00:11:06.460 it would have been better for them with Allah. 00:11:06.460 --> 00:11:09.460 But Allah disgraced these Jews 00:11:09.460 --> 00:11:14.460 because of their rejection of the prophethood of His Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) 00:11:14.460 --> 00:11:19.460 and what he brought them from their Lord of guidance and clear proofs. 00:11:19.460 --> 00:11:25.460 So they do not believe in Muhammad (peace be upon him) except with very little faith. 00:11:25.460 --> 00:11:39.980 “O ye unto whom the Scripture hath been given! The commandment of Allah is always executed.” (4:47) 00:12:18.419 --> 00:12:21.419 lest We obliterate their sight and erase their features, 00:12:21.419 --> 00:12:24.419 making them flat like the backs of their necks, 00:12:24.419 --> 00:12:27.419 placing their eyes in the back of their heads, 00:12:27.419 --> 00:12:30.419 and turning faces into the backs of necks, 00:12:30.419 --> 00:12:32.419 and the backs of necks into faces, 00:12:32.419 --> 00:12:34.419 so that they walk backwards; 00:12:34.419 --> 00:12:38.419 or curse you and disgrace you, turning you into apes, 00:12:38.419 --> 00:12:42.419 just as We disgraced those among your ancestors who transgressed the Sabbath. 00:12:42.419 --> 00:12:47.419 And everything Allah has commanded to be is created and brought into existence. 00:13:06.539 --> 00:13:09.539 Indeed, Allah does not forgive that partners be associated with Him, 00:13:09.539 --> 00:13:12.539 but He forgives whatever is less than that shirk 00:13:12.539 --> 00:13:15.539 for whomever He wills among the people of sins and offenses. 00:13:15.539 --> 00:13:18.539 And whoever associates partners with Allah in His worship 00:13:18.539 --> 00:13:21.899 has fabricated a tremendous sin. 00:13:36.409 --> 00:13:39.409 Have you not seen with your heart, O Muhammad, 00:13:39.409 --> 00:13:42.409 those who claim purity for themselves among the Jews, 00:13:42.409 --> 00:13:45.409 absolving themselves of sins and declaring themselves pure? 00:13:45.409 --> 00:13:50.409 The matter is not as you claim—that you have no sins or faults. 00:13:50.409 --> 00:13:53.409 For the one who is truly pure is not the one who purifies himself, 00:13:53.409 --> 00:13:56.409 but rather the one whom Allah purifies. 00:13:56.409 --> 00:13:59.409 And Allah purifies whomever He wills of His creation 00:13:59.409 --> 00:14:03.409 by granting him success in avoiding the acts of disobedience that He detests, 00:14:03.409 --> 00:14:06.409 and directing him toward the acts of obedience that please Him. 00:14:06.409 --> 00:14:09.409 And Allah does not wrong His servants even the extent of a fatil (a scaleline thread), 00:14:09.409 --> 00:14:13.409 which is the smallest of things that has no significance or value. 00:14:25.049 --> 00:14:28.529 Look, O Muhammad, how they invent— 00:14:28.529 --> 00:14:31.529 those who claim purity for themselves—such lies 00:14:31.529 --> 00:14:33.529 and falsehood in speech! 00:14:33.529 --> 00:14:36.529 And sufficient is their utterance as a sin 00:14:36.529 --> 00:14:38.529 that exposes their falsehood to those who hear it, 00:14:38.529 --> 00:14:41.529 and makes clear to them that they are slanderous liars and wicked evildoers. 00:15:05.549 --> 00:15:07.549 Have you not seen with your heart, O Muhammad, 00:15:07.549 --> 00:15:11.549 those who were given a portion of the Book of Allah and knew it, 00:15:11.549 --> 00:15:14.549 believing in idols and false deities, 00:15:14.549 --> 00:15:16.549 and disbelieving in Allah, 00:15:16.549 --> 00:15:20.549 and saying to those who denied the oneness of Allah— 00:15:20.549 --> 00:15:23.549 those whom Allah characterized with disbelief— 00:15:23.549 --> 00:15:28.549 that they are more upright and just in way than those who believed in Allah and His Messenger? 00:15:39.129 --> 00:15:44.480 Those are the ones who were given a portion of the Scripture, 00:15:44.480 --> 00:15:47.480 while they believe in idols and false deities. 00:15:47.480 --> 00:15:50.480 Allah has disgraced them and removed them far from His mercy. 00:15:50.480 --> 00:15:54.480 And whomever Allah disgraces and removes far from His mercy, 00:15:54.480 --> 00:15:57.480 you will never find for him, O Muhammad, a helper 00:15:57.480 --> 00:15:59.480 to aid him against Allah's punishment 00:15:59.480 --> 00:16:01.480 and avert it from him. 00:16:08.610 --> 00:16:12.610 “Or have they even a share in the Sovereignty? Hell is sufficient for (their) burning.” (4:55) 00:17:31.980 --> 00:17:36.980 ◁And sufficient is Hell as a blaze.▷ 00:17:36.980 --> 00:17:40.529 So among those who were given the Scripture, 00:17:40.529 --> 00:17:42.529 from the Jews of the Children of Israel, 00:17:42.529 --> 00:17:45.529 are those who believed in what We revealed to Muhammad 00:17:45.529 --> 00:17:47.529 (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), 00:17:47.529 --> 00:17:50.529 and among them are those who turned away from believing in him. 00:17:50.529 --> 00:17:53.529 And sufficient for you, O deniers, 00:17:53.529 --> 00:17:56.940 is the Fire of Hell stoked against you. 00:17:56.940 --> 00:18:00.809 ◁Indeed, those who disbelieve in Our verses—▷ 00:18:00.809 --> 00:18:03.809 ◁We will drive them into a Fire.▷ 00:18:03.809 --> 00:18:06.809 ◁Every time their skins are roasted through,▷ 00:18:06.809 --> 00:18:10.809 ◁We will replace them with other skins▷ 00:18:10.809 --> 00:18:12.809 ◁so that they may taste the punishment.▷ 00:18:12.809 --> 00:18:18.809 “Lo! Those who disbelieve Our revelations, We shall expose them to the Fire. As often as their skins are consumed We shall exchange them for fresh skins that they may taste the torment. Lo! Allah is ever Mighty, Wise.” (4:56) 00:18:18.809 --> 00:18:22.349 Indeed, those who denied what I revealed 00:18:22.349 --> 00:18:26.349 to My Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), 00:18:26.349 --> 00:18:29.349 We will thoroughly roast them in the Fire of Hell, 00:18:29.349 --> 00:18:31.349 broiling therein. 00:18:31.349 --> 00:18:34.349 Every time their skins are roasted by it and burned away, 00:18:34.349 --> 00:18:37.349 We will replace them with other skins, 00:18:37.349 --> 00:18:39.349 so that they may experience the agony of the torment. 00:18:39.349 --> 00:18:43.349 Indeed, Allah has always been Almighty in His retribution, 00:18:43.349 --> 00:18:46.640 All-Wise in His ordainment and decree. 00:18:46.640 --> 00:18:50.640 ◁And those who believe and do righteous deeds—▷ 00:18:50.640 --> 00:18:56.640 ◁We will admit them to gardens▷ 00:18:56.640 --> 00:19:00.640 ◁beneath which rivers flow,▷ 00:19:00.640 --> 00:19:03.640 ◁abiding therein forever.▷ 00:19:03.640 --> 00:19:08.640 ◁They will have therein purified spouses,▷ 00:19:08.640 --> 00:19:14.059 ◁and We will admit them to extending shade.▷ 00:19:14.059 --> 00:19:17.059 And those who believe in Allah and His Messenger, 00:19:17.059 --> 00:19:20.059 fulfill the obligatory duties Allah commanded them with, 00:19:20.059 --> 00:19:24.059 and avoid the acts of disobedience Allah made forbidden to them— 00:19:24.059 --> 00:19:28.059 Allah will admit them on the Day of Resurrection into gardens 00:19:28.059 --> 00:19:32.059 beneath which rivers flow, 00:19:32.059 --> 00:19:36.059 remaining therein forever, without end or cessation; 00:19:36.059 --> 00:19:40.059 they shall have spouses pure from all defilement and doubt; 00:19:40.059 --> 00:19:43.059 and We shall admit them into dense, sheltering shade. 00:19:43.059 --> 00:19:49.230 This is the summary from the Tafsir of al-Tabari.
