Summary of the concepts of Ahl al-Sunnah
The leading Ummah
Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has chosen the Ummah of Islam to lead humanity
after the People of the Book had inflicted suffering and betrayed their covenants and altered their Lord's Book.
Allah says, the Most High:
“Ye are the best community that hath been raised up for mankind. Ye enjoin right conduct and forbid indecency; and ye believe in Allah. And if the People of the Scripture had believed it had been better for them. Some of them are believers; but most of them are evil-livers.” (3:110)

And Allah says, the Most High:
“Thus We have appointed you a middle nation, that ye may be witnesses against mankind, and that the messenger may be a witness against you. And We appointed the qiblah which ye formerly observed only that We might know him who followeth the messenger, from him who turneth on his heels. In truth it was a hard (test) save for those whom Allah guided. But it was not Allah's purpose that your faith should be in vain, for Allah is Full of Pity, Merciful toward mankind.” (2:143)

This Ummah, with its unique divine methodology,
leads the Ummah to the correct worldview,
and correct character,
and correct system and law.
And in all these correct states,
minds grow and life develops,
hearts open and come to know this universe and its secrets,
and harness its powers, energies, and resources to reform life and spread goodness within it.
And this leadership
necessitates that its people be warned against following any path other than this divine methodology,
especially following the People of the Book, those who have incurred Allah's wrath and gone astray,
because in following them lies disbelief and the misery of this world and the Hereafter.
Allah says, the Most High:
“O ye who believe! If ye obey a party of those who have received the Scripture they will make you disbelievers after your belief.” (3:100)
“How can ye disbelieve, when it is ye unto whom Allah's revelations are recited, and His messenger is in your midst? He who holdeth fast to Allah, he indeed is guided unto a right path.” (3:101)
