A hadith and commentary
The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:
"Do not harbor hatred toward one another."
It was recorded by al-Bukhari.
Commentary:
This authentic hadith
is a foundational principle for how Muslims should interact with one another.
Draw closer to one another.
Maintain ties with one another.
Show mercy to one another.
Love one another.
Purify your hearts.
Turn away from the causes of animosity.
Beware of gossip.
Reject those who sow discord.
Seek refuge from the devils.
Remove whatever ill feelings you may hold toward your brothers.
And be, O servants of Allah, brothers.
