I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger
ذكر البخاري أن عبدالرحمن بن عوف رضي الله عنه
He was brought food and was fasting
فقال قتل مصعب بن عمير وهو خير مني
كفن في برده إن غطي رأسه بدت رجلاه
If his legs are covered, his head is exposed
Hamza was killed and he was better than me
ثم بُسِط لنا من الدنيا ما بُسِط
أو قال أعطينا من الدنيا ما أعطينا
وقد خشينا أن تكون حسناتنا عُجِّلت لنا
Then he started crying until he stopped eating
He felt the companions who extended their lives
بالفرق الهائل بينما كان وما يعيشونه الآن
لكن ذلك لم يغير الاتجاه أو يطمس المبدأ
Or they forget their sublimity and purpose
These people were destined to live
حتى يستمتعوا برؤية بلال يؤذن فوق ظهر الكعبة
ويشهدوا مراسلة النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم
لملوك الروم والفرس والحبشة
