What is the reward for reciting the Master Supplication for Forgiveness (Sayyid al-Istighfar) in the morning and evening?
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
"The master supplication for seeking forgiveness is to say:
'O Allah, You are my Lord; there is no deity worthy of worship except You.
You created me, and I am Your servant,
and I abide by Your covenant and promise as best I can.
I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done.
I fully acknowledge Your favor upon me,
and I acknowledge my sin,
so forgive me,
for none forgives sins except You.'
He said: 'Whoever recites it during the day with firm faith in it,
and dies that day before evening falls,
will be among the people of Paradise.
And whoever recites it during the night with firm faith in it,
and dies before morning breaks, will be among the people of Paradise.'"
