Reconciling differences holds a position of great significance within the realm of noble character.
Allah the Exalted says:
They ask you concerning the spoils of war.
“They ask thee (O Muhammad) of the spoils of war. Say: The spoils of war belong to Allah and the messenger, so keep your duty to Allah, and adjust the matter of your difference, and obey Allah and His messenger, if ye are (true) believers.” (8:1)

Thus, the command came in the verse to reconcile differences between people.
It is framed by a general preceding command to fear Allah.
"So fear Allah," followed by a general command thereafter:
"And obey Allah and His Messenger."
Then, this was followed by an appeal to the sentiments of faith within the hearts of the believers.
"If you are believers."
Thus, He made the reconciliation of differences a condition for the realization of faith.
