The difference between a messenger and a prophet
There is a famous saying that the Messenger is the one who was inspired by him
He ordered notification
As for the Prophet, he is the one to whom it was revealed
But he was not ordered to report
This statement is neither accurate nor true
And the right thing
The Messenger is the one sent by God
He is sent with the message of Islam and a new law
And his message will be opposed by disbelieving people who deny it
As for the prophet, he is the prophet of God
He received a revelation from God
To call his people to worship God alone
According to a law that God revealed to a Messenger before him
He is sent to a people who believe in the message of a messenger before him
Example
Prophets of the children of Israel
Those who used to rule their people and govern them
According to the provisions of the Torah that were revealed to Moses, peace be upon him
God Almighty said
Indeed, We sent down the Torah, in which is guidance and light
It is ruled by the prophets who submitted to those who were Jews
Accordingly, every messenger is a prophet
Not every prophet is a messenger
Everyone is commanded to convey God’s call to their people
