A verse and its Tafsir.
Allah the Almighty says:
"And lower to them the wing of humility."
Why did Allah the Almighty say:
"And lower to them the wing of humility"?
The answer is:
Humility before people is generally
a cause for degradation, lowliness, and disgrace.
However, humility before one's parents
is a cause for elevation, high status, and prestige.
Thus, the phrase "wing of humility" was used
to convey this specific meaning.
Whoever humbles himself before his parents
increases in stature and rises,
just as a bird rises on its wings
and soars into the sky.
