Is there asceticism with singing?
Asceticism may occur with singing as it does with poverty
Among the prophets and early predecessors were those who were rich
This did not exclude them from being ascetics
Because they were not preoccupied with their need for the afterlife
Rather, they used it to benefit them
Imam Ahmad was asked about a man who has a thousand dinars
Will he be an ascetic?
He said yes, on the condition that he would not be happy if it increased
And do not be sad if it decreases
