A summary of the concepts held by the Ahl al-Sunnah.
Boycotting.
It is a form of economic warfare.
Used by peoples and nations against those who show them hostility.
This has been known since ancient times.
An example of this is the boycott of the Banu Hashim by the Quraysh.
And their siege in the ravine of Abu Talib.
They would not trade with them.
An economic boycott.
Nor would they intermarry with them, a social boycott.
And they prevented any aid from reaching them.
Attempting by this means to dissuade the Messenger, peace be upon him, from his call.
They wrote a document pledging to do so and hung it inside the Kaaba.
The siege lasted for three years.
Until Allah permitted the trial to end.
The termites—which are white ants—consumed this document.
When the Quraysh saw that, they lifted the siege.
Among the examples of this from the side of the Muslims against the disbelievers:
What Thumamah Ibn Uthal, the leader of the Banu Hanifah, did after he embraced Islam.
He cut off the supplies that used to reach the Quraysh from the Banu Hanifah.
Until they ceased their harm against the Muslims.
And the Messenger, peace be upon him, permitted him to do something in that regard.
In the modern era, the West uses the weapon of boycotting with force.
In the form of sanctions against any state that does not comply with its desires.
Muslims do this driven by their faith.
To support their religion and their Prophet, without the support of their own rulers.
Nevertheless, the boycott bears fruit by the grace of Allah the Exalted.
As happened years ago with the boycott of Danish products.
Until the companies complained to their government.
And the author of the film that mocked the Messenger, peace be upon him, retracted his mockery.
Indeed, he even entered into Islam after he learned about him.
Just as the boycott of French products is currently taking place.
Because a wicked newspaper published offensive cartoons of the noble Messenger, peace be upon him.
And because the French government did not prevent that.
It is a powerful boycott that affects the economy of the state upon which it is imposed.
It is sufficient for us, beyond the realistic impact on the enemies,
That it serves as a demonstration of the Muslims' loyalty to their religion and their Prophet.
And their disavowal of the people of disbelief and polytheism using whatever weapon they can.
