“The likeness of those who are entrusted with the Law of Moses, yet apply it not, is as the likeness of the ass carrying books. Wretched is the likeness of folk who deny the revelations of Allah. And Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk.” (62:5)

The true right of knowledge is blessed action,

flourishing character, and manifest humility,

Thus, when he walks, dignity is upon him,

when he speaks, his words are pleasant and gentle,

and when he prays, one recognizes the prayer of the God-fearing in him.

His limbs are disciplined, his company is pleasant,

and his exhortations are tender.

He speaks only with pure and wholesome words,

never rambling, insulting, or reviling.

For the believer is not one who habitually slanders or curses,

nor is he vulgar or obscene.

He is seen as an ascetic, not yearning for the world,

nor competing for it,

nor engaging in vain talk with those who engage in it.

Rather, he takes from it with moderation,

and suffices himself with what benefits him for the Hereafter.

And Allah is the Grantor of success.
