A new challenge from me
I am one of the youngest companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace
I was a servant of Nafi Ibn Abd al-Harith, may God be pleased with him
So he freed me and I became one of my followers
I loved the Qur’an and science and learned about them
When Omar bin Al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him, assumed the caliphate
Nafi Ibn Abd al-Harith used it on Mecca
Nafi' went out to Asfan
He appointed me as his successor in Mecca
The Commander of the Faithful, Omar, may God be pleased with him, met him in Asfan
He said to him: Who did you appoint as successor over the people of the valley, meaning Mecca?
He said, “I have appointed as successor over them a man from among our loyalists.”
Omar said: I appointed a master over them
He said that he is a reader of the Book of God Almighty and knowledgeable of the religious duties
Omar, may God be pleased with him, said
As for your Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, he said:
God raises people with this book
And he puts others in it
Omar, may God be pleased with him, said about me
This Mawla is one of those whom God has exalted in the Qur’an
Then I moved to Kufa
I taught people the Qur’an and science
I used to advise young people to get married and take the initiative to do so
And I tell them
Like a good woman to a man
Like the gold-studded crown on a king's head
Then Ali bin Abi Talib, may God be pleased with him, employed me
On Khorasan
So I moved to her
I stayed there until my death
