--> 00:01:20.409 I would take the rulings of the religion from him. 00:01:20.409 --> 00:01:23.409 And learn the Qur'an from him. 00:01:23.409 --> 00:01:25.409 Until sunset arrived. 00:01:25.409 --> 00:01:28.409 Then I would return to my people. 00:01:28.409 --> 00:01:31.409 And wait for another the following day. 00:01:31.409 --> 00:01:32.409 And so it went. 00:01:32.409 --> 00:01:35.409 I longed for my uncle to embrace Islam. 00:01:35.409 --> 00:01:38.700 The one who had cared for me and been generous to me. 00:01:38.700 --> 00:01:43.700 When the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, arrived in Medina, 00:01:43.700 --> 00:01:46.700 My soul began to yearn for migration. 00:01:46.700 --> 00:01:49.700 But I could not do so because of my uncle. 00:01:49.700 --> 00:01:54.700 Years passed, and events unfolded while I remained in my place. 00:01:54.700 --> 00:01:57.700 So I said to my uncle one day, 00:01:57.700 --> 00:01:58.700 "O uncle, 00:01:58.700 --> 00:02:01.700 I have waited a long time for you to embrace Islam. 00:02:01.700 --> 00:02:04.700 But I see that you do not want Muhammad." 00:02:04.700 --> 00:02:07.700 "So grant me permission to embrace Islam." 00:02:07.700 --> 00:02:09.699 He became angry with me and said, 00:02:09.699 --> 00:02:12.699 "By Allah, if you follow Muhammad, 00:02:12.699 --> 00:02:16.699 I will not leave in your possession used one piece as a waist-wrapper and the other as a mantle. 00:02:49.759 --> 00:02:52.759 Then I set out, migrating to Medina. 00:02:52.759 --> 00:02:55.759 I had no food with me. 00:02:55.759 --> 00:02:57.759 The journey exhausted me. 00:02:57.759 --> 00:03:00.759 My body weakened and my complexion paled. 00:03:00.759 --> 00:03:03.759 Until I reached Medina at the time of dawn. 00:03:03.759 --> 00:03:06.759 I lay down in the mosque. 00:03:06.759 --> 00:03:11.949 Then the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, led us in the morning prayer. 00:03:11.949 --> 00:03:15.949 He began to scan the faces of the people after the prayer. 00:03:15.949 --> 00:03:18.949 He looked at me and did not recognize me. 00:03:18.949 --> 00:03:20.949 He asked, "Who are you?" 00:03:20.949 --> 00:03:22.949 I 00:03:48.979 --> 00:03:51.979 We stopped along the way. 00:03:51.979 --> 00:03:54.979 My illness intensified. 00:03:54.979 --> 00:03:58.360 Until my soul was taken. 00:03:58.360 --> 00:04:03.360 Abdullah Ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, woke up that night. 00:04:03.360 --> 00:04:07.360 He saw a faint light at the edge of the camp. 00:04:07.360 --> 00:04:10.360 He said, "I will draw 00:04:34.360 "Bring your brother closer to me." 00:04:34.360 --> 00:04:37.420 When he had positioned me in the niche of the grave, 00:04:37.420 --> 00:04:40.420 He, peace be upon him, said, 00:04:40.420 --> 00:04:44.420 "O Allah, I have spent the evening pleased with him, 00:04:44.420 --> 00:04:46.420 So be pleased with him." 00:04:46.420 --> 00:04:49.420 He said this three times.
