The Garden of Guidance. Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, said: “Lo! there was a party of My slaves who said: Our Lord! We believe, therefor forgive us and have mercy on us for Thou art Best of all who show mercy;” (23:109) “But ye chose them for a laughing-stock until they caused you to forget remembrance of Me, while ye laughed at them.” (23:110) “Lo! I have rewarded them this day forasmuch as they were steadfast in that they, even they, are the triumphant.” (23:111) And on the authority of Mu'adh Ibn Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever restrains their anger while being fully capable of acting upon it, Allah, Glorified and Exalted be He, will summon them before all of creation on the Day of Resurrection, letting them choose whichever of the wide-eyed maidens of Paradise they desire." Related by Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi. A point of benefit: Yahya Ibn Mu'adh (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Paradise is surrounded by hardships, yet you detest them, while the Fire is surrounded by desires, and you pursue them. You are truly like a gravely ill patient: if he compels himself to endure the bitterness of medicine, he attains well-being through his patience; but if his soul despairs over what it must endure, his debilitating illness will only be prolonged."
