In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. The echo of the callers. It is Allah, Glorious is His Majesty. A sermon by the honorable Sheikh Khalid Ibn Abdullah al-Hammudi. Praise be to Allah, eternally and everlastingly. We associate no one with Him. Blessed is Allah, the Eternal Refuge, the Self-Sufficient. He has neither taken a companion nor a child. Nor does He have a partner or a supporter. Praise be to Allah for His blessings. Praise be to Allah for His favors. Praise be to Allah for His wisdom. Praise be to Allah, whose names shine with the most magnificent praises. Whose bounties follow in the most precious gifts. Whose favors succeed one another in the most blessed of goodness. I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah, alone, with no partner. The Sovereign, the Truth, the Exalted, the Great. Exalted is He in His divinity and His lordship Above having a partner or a minister. And sanctified is He in His self-sufficiency Above having a companion or a child, Or a protector or a helper. And I bear witness that our master and our Prophet, Our beloved Muhammad, is the servant of Allah, His messenger, His chosen one, and His intimate friend. The illuminating lamp, The bringer of glad tidings and the warner. The greatest man who magnified Allah, Who sanctified Allah, Who honored Allah, Who exalted Allah, And who feared Allah. May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, his family, his Companions, and his followers, Who magnified Allah, And may He grant them abundant peace until the Day of Judgment. Now then, servants of Allah, I advise you and myself to fear Allah, For it is the commandment of Allah to us and to those before us. “Unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. And We charged those who received the Scripture before you, and (We charge) you, that ye keep your duty toward Allah. And if ye disbelieve, lo! unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, and Allah is ever Absolute, Owner of Praise.” (4:131) “Unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. And We charged those who received the Scripture before you, and (We charge) you, that ye keep your duty toward Allah. And if ye disbelieve, lo! unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, and Allah is ever Absolute, Owner of Praise.” (4:131) O community of believers, We shall speak today About the most beautiful thing in life, The greatest thing in life, The sweetest, The most perfect, And the best thing in life. If our hearts are filled with this matter, We shall be happy, We shall rejoice, We shall find peace, And we shall live as the happy ones in all our states. Our topic, O servants of Allah, Our topic Is about Allah, Glorious is His Majesty, And sanctified are His names. The most known of all that is known, He needs no definition. In His hand is the command and the disposal of all affairs. It is Allah. His scale is exalted, His benevolence is beautiful, And His grace is abundant. It is Allah. His party is victorious, His enemy is defeated, And his adversary is cut off. He crushes the tyrants, He destroys the arrogant, And He tears apart those who harm Him. It is Allah, Whose station is exalted, And whose authority is strong. He is greater than everything, He is master over everything, And He creates everything. So there is no deity but Allah, And Allah is the Greatest. Yes, Allah is the Greatest. It demolishes the strongholds of the hypocrites. Allah is the Greatest. It defeats the armies of the traitors. Allah is the Greatest. It shatters the dens of the corrupt. Allah is the Greatest. How forbearing He is toward the tyrants! Allah is the Greatest. How patient He is with the disobedient! Allah is the Greatest. How severe is His punishment against those who show Him enmity! It is Allah, Glorious is His Majesty. The heavens have glorified Him, And their inhabitants, The stars and their orbits, The earth and its dwellers, The seas and their whales, The masters and their slaves, The rains and their thunder, The trees and their fruits, And the homes and their ruins. Do you not see? “Hast thou not seen that Allah, He it is Whom all who are in the heavens and the earth praise, and the birds in their flight? Of each He knoweth verily the worship and the praise; and Allah is Aware of what they do.” (24:41) Whoever is in the heavens and the earth, And the birds with wings outspread? Each has known Its prayer and its glorification. And Allah is Knowing of what They do. Glory be to You, glory be to You. Everyone acknowledges Your generosity, For You are the Creator of their nature, The Provider for their needs, The One who holds them by their forelocks, The One from whose punishment One seeks refuge in Your pardon, And from whose wrath one seeks refuge in Your pleasure. Except for those upon whom The word of punishment has been justified, For the decree is inevitable for them. And by Allah, O servants of Allah, I swear by Allah, If we were to glorify Allah Night and day, Secretly and openly, We would not fulfill the right of Allah, Nor would we reach the greatness of Allah, His glory, and His majesty, By the weight of an atom. So glory be to Him. “Therefor Glory be to Him in Whose hand is the dominion over all things! Unto Him ye will be brought back.” (36:83) And to Him you shall return. Glory be to Him who remains Glorified forever, And there is no glorification for any other. Glory be to Him from whom nothing Conceals His knowledge, For the secret is as clear to Him As the public declaration. Glory be to Him whose Decrees run according to What He wills, Whether hidden or manifest. Glory be to Him who remains, And whose provision for the worlds Is guaranteed by Him. Glory be to Him in whose remembrance, And in the provision of contentment from Him, There is life and fragrance. Servants of Allah, O community of believers, Why speak about Allah, The Possessor of greatness and majesty? Because speaking about Allah Is the greatest speech, The most comprehensive speech, And the sweetest speech. Why speak about Allah? Because the entire Qur'an came To speak about Him, About His greatness, His prohibitions, His decrees, His disposal of affairs, And His management of creation. Why speak about Allah And His greatness? Because the greatness Of the Great, the Mighty, the Compeller Has weakened in the hearts of many People, so they transgressed Against the sanctities of Allah and acted arrogantly, And they neglected the right of Allah and committed injustice. Thus, the awe of Allah Weakened in their hearts, They forgot the power of Allah, They became heedless of the might of Allah, And they did not estimate the strength of Allah, Nor did they estimate the punishment of Allah. So here we are today, O servants of Allah, Speaking about Him, While life fills our faces, And shame covers our hearts. For who are we To praise Him or glorify Him, Or to laud Him? But we offer our excuse before Him, That we are unable To speak about All of His greatness, Or to encompass it in measure And knowledge. But our topic today Is nothing But an atom of His greatness, And an exposition Of a portion Of His majesty and His awe. It is Allah, The most worthy of being praised, The most magnificent of those mentioned, And the greatest of those who are worshipped, He is Allah, before whose majesty all existing things are humbled, and to whose might all creation submits. Everything, therefore, is in need of Him, while He is free of need for them. “Seek they other than the religion of Allah, when unto Him submitteth whosoever is in the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly, and unto Him they will be returned.” (3:83) and the earth, willingly or unwillingly, and to Him you shall return. He is Allah, the Magnificent. Exalted is He, for everything submits to His command, and yields to His judgment and His wisdom, and all are under His power and His subjugation. He is Allah, whose greatness is such that nothing is greater than He. His Kursi encompasses the heavens and the earth, and it does not weary Him to preserve them, and He is the Most High, the Almighty. He is Allah, the King, who manages the affairs of His servants, who commands and forbids, who gives and withholds, who abases and exalts. His commands are successive, throughout the passage of time, and effective by His will and decree. Whatever He wills, happens, and whatever He does not will, does not happen. “All that are in the heavens and the earth entreat Him. Every day He exerciseth (universal) power.” (55:29) Every day, He is in a state of manifestation. Among His affairs is to relieve distress, to mend the brokenhearted, to enrich the poor, and to answer the call. He said of Himself: “And We have created above you seven paths, and We are never unmindful of creation.” (23:17) His knowledge encompasses everything, what has been, and what has not been—if it were to be, how it would be. Not even an atom moves, or anything greater than it, except by His permission. And no leaf falls except by His knowledge. Nothing is hidden from Him. To Him, the secret and the public are the same. He, the Exalted, said: "It is the same among you, “Alike of you is he who hideth the saying and he who noiseth it abroad, he who lurketh in the night and he who goeth freely in the daytime.” (13:10) “Alike of you is he who hideth the saying and he who noiseth it abroad, he who lurketh in the night and he who goeth freely in the daytime.” (13:10) and one who moves by night and one who moves by day." He is Allah, who hears the voices of all creatures while He is upon His Throne, exalted is He. His angels, those brought near, knew His greatness, so they feared Him, and magnified Him. The messengers knew His greatness, so they stood firm in His worship, and called their peoples to His oneness, and to His love. Our Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, the last of the prophets and messengers, was the greatest in magnifying his Lord. He, peace be upon him, explained something of His greatness, exalted is He, in what He has created. He, peace be upon him, said: "I have been permitted to speak about an angel from among the angels of Allah, one of the bearers of the Throne: the distance between his earlobe and his shoulder is a journey of 700 years." Narrated by Abu Dawud. Majestic is His glory. Great in His Lordship, great in His divinity, great in His names, and His attributes, great in His kingdom and His creation, great in His wisdom and His mercy, great in His management of the affairs of His creation, great in His judgment between His servants. Every greatness in existence is a proof of the greatness of its Creator and its Manager. Majestic is His glory, exalted in His highness, and magnified in His majesty. The heavens almost rupture from Him, the earth splits open, and the mountains fall down in ruin, “That ye ascribe unto the Beneficent a son,” (19:91) “That ye ascribe unto the Beneficent a son,” (19:91) and it is not appropriate for the Most Merciful that He should take a son. So there is no god but Allah. There is no god but Allah, and we worship none but Him, and we hope for none but Him. Great in authority and status. Successful is he who calls upon Him, happy is he who hopes in Him, and triumphant is he who takes Him as his Protector. He is Allah, yet many people have not appraised Allah with the appraisal due to Him. And the earth, all of it, will be in His grip on the Day of Resurrection, and the heavens will be folded in His right hand. Exalted is Allah above what they associate with Him. O Allah, make Your greatness in our hearts greater than everything, and larger than everything. O Allah, amen. May Allah bless me and you with the Great Qur'an, and benefit me and you with the verses and the wise reminder it contains. I say what you hear, and I seek forgiveness from Allah for me and for you, so seek His forgiveness, for He is the Forgiving, the Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, Lord of the good, God of the first and the last. And I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, alone, with no partner, the Eternal. And I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and His messenger, the truthful, the trustworthy. O Allah, send prayers upon Muhammad and upon his family and all his companions. And now, servants of Allah, O community of believers, know that no matter how much the creation reaches in magnifying Allah, they remain incapable of [comprehending] His power and His greatness, majestic is His glory. For His right, the Almighty, is greater, and His status is larger. The believers in their Lord realize His greatness, acknowledge His Lordship, submit to His divinity, reflect upon His creations, are sincere in His worship, and do not associate anyone else with Him. They honor His law, observe His limits, comply with His commands, and avoid His prohibitions. When they hear His verses, their hearts are humbled, their skins shiver, and their eyes overflow with tears, and their tongues are busy with His remembrance, His glorification, His magnification, and His praise, out of love and reverence, and out of magnification and awe for their Master and their Creator, saying with their tongues: "Our Lord, You have not created this in vain; exalted are You, so protect us from the punishment of the Fire." So, servants of Allah, O servants of Allah, do not look at the smallness of the sin, but look at the greatness of the One you have disobeyed. Magnify Allah, O servants of Allah, in your hearts. Magnify Allah in your hearts. Magnify Allah in your hearts, and do not make Him the least of those watching you. Find happiness in that. If we do that and magnify Allah, we will be happy in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, O Hearer of supplication, O Possessor of vast bounty, O You whom nothing can frustrate on earth, nor in the heavens. O Allah, place the magnification of You in our hearts, greater than everything, and larger than everything. May Your love in our hearts be dearer to us than cold water to the thirsty. O Allah, we ask You for Your fear in private and in public. We ask You for Your pleasure. We ask You for Your pleasure. We ask You for Your pleasure and Paradise. And we seek refuge in You from Your wrath and from the Fire. O Allah, O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, forgive our sins, conceal our faults, and accept our repentance. And seal our deeds with righteousness. O Allah, O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, O You who are capable of all things, and worthy of answering our prayers. O Hearer of supplication, O Possessor of vast bounty, O You whom nothing can frustrate on earth, nor in the heavens. O You who hear our speech, and see our place, and from whom nothing of our affairs is hidden. Just as You have gathered us upon these carpets, gather us beneath Your Throne, as brothers who love one another, sitting on thrones, facing one another. Grant us security in our homelands, and do not let us be overcome. Grant victory to our soldiers at the borders, and grant victory to our oppressed brothers everywhere. O Allah, rectify the state of the Muslims. O Allah, rectify the state of the Muslims. O Allah, lift this epidemic from us. O Allah, lift this epidemic from us. O Allah, lift this epidemic from us. And lift from us high prices, adultery, usury, earthquakes, and calamities, and the evil of tribulations, both those that are apparent and those that are hidden. O Allah, You are Allah, there is no god but You, and we are the needy. O Allah, send down rain upon us, and do not make us among the despairing. O Allah, grant us rain. O Allah, grant us rain. O Allah, grant us rain, a rain that is wholesome and refreshing, pouring, abundant, beneficial, and not harmful. Do not deprive us of the good that is with You because of the evil that is with us. And do not deprive us of Your favor because of our sins. O Lord, rectify our intentions and our offspring. Give us what we have wished for, and more than we have wished for, of the good of this world and the Hereafter. Illuminate the graves of those in the graves. Forgive the living and ease their affairs for them. Forgive our parents, and have mercy on them as they raised us when we were small. My Lord, have mercy on them as they raised me when I was small. O Allah, O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor, we have called upon You in this blessed hour, and on this blessed day, and in this blessed place. You are too generous to turn us away. We know that You have many servants other than us, but we have no Lord other than You, and we have no god besides You. Answer, O Lord, our supplication, and grant us our request. O Allah, send peace and blessings upon our master, and our beloved, Muhammad, as long as those who remember You remember him, and as long as those who are heedless neglect to remember him. “Glorified be thy Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they attribute (unto Him)” (37:180) Exalted is He above what they describe, and peace be upon the messengers. And praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Mighty.
