Leadership is a gift.
It is not enough for an educator to simply have the ability to follow up with and care for those they are nurturing.
Rather, they must also possess a leadership quality that reassures the recipient without resorting to authoritarianism.
Therefore,
the existence of educational leadership is a communal obligation (fard kifayah) upon the Ummah.
It may even become an individual obligation, like other communal duties, for anyone who possesses the innate talent for leadership.
In such a case, they must commit to refining themselves and honing their management and leadership skills.
And subsequently, employ these skills in the upbringing of the Ummah, both as individuals and as a collective.
