A new challenge: Who am I?
I am one of the Companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.
I am from the Ansar.
I embraced Islam.
I witnessed all the battles alongside the Prophet, peace be upon him.
On the day of Badr,
I set out with the Muslims.
On the way, a stone struck me,
and my leg was broken.
The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, sent me back to Medina.
He assigned me a share of the spoils,
so I was like one who had actually witnessed it.
My brother is Abdullah Ibn Jubayr, may Allah be pleased with him,
the commander of the archers on the day of Uhud.
Before my Islam, I was a poet with an eloquent tongue.
I loved flirting with women and sitting in their company.
After I embraced Islam,
I went out with the Prophet, peace be upon him, on a journey.
We stopped at a place,
and I stepped out of my tent.
Suddenly, I found some women talking,
and I was captivated by them.
I returned to my tent and took my belongings,
from which I pulled out a beautiful garment.
I put it on,
and came and sat with them.
The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, came out of his tent,
saw me, and recognized me.
He said to me,
"Abu Abdullah,
what makes you sit with them?"
When I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him,
I was struck with awe and became flustered.
I said,
"O Messenger of Allah,
I have a stray camel,
and I am searching for it."
Then the Prophet, peace be upon him, walked on,
and I followed him.
He relieved himself and performed wudu,
and he approached with water dripping from his beard onto his chest.
He said,
"Abu Abdullah,
what became of your stray camel?"
I lowered my head in shame before him.
Then we departed,
and whenever he saw me during the journey, he would say,
"Peace be upon you, Abu Abdullah,
what became of that stray camel?"
When I saw that from him, peace be upon him,
I was overcome with shyness.
I hurried to Medina,
and I avoided the mosque and sitting with the Prophet, peace be upon him.
When he said that,
I waited for a time of solitude.
I came to the mosque and stood to pray.
The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, suddenly came out of one of his chambers,
entered the mosque,
and prayed two light rak'ahs.
I prolonged my prayer,
hoping that he would leave and let me be.
He said,
"Prolong it, Abu Abdullah, as much as you wish to prolong it,
for I will not stand up until you finish."
I said to myself,
"By Allah, I will surely apologize to the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him,
and I will surely please his heart."
When the Prophet, peace be upon him, said,
"Peace be upon you, Abu Abdullah,
what became of that stray camel?"
I said,
"By the One who sent you with the truth,
no camel of mine has strayed since I embraced Islam."
The Prophet, peace be upon him, smiled at me,
and said,
"May Allah have mercy on you."
After that, I never returned to anything related to women.
So, who am I?
