The Garden of Guidance.
Allah Almighty said:
“O ye who believe! spend of that wherewith We have provided you ere a day come when there will be no trafficking, nor friendship, nor intercession. The disbelievers, they are the wrong-doers.” (2:254)
"And the disbelievers are the wrongdoers."
And on the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:
A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and asked,
"O Messenger of Allah,
which charity brings the greatest reward?"
He replied,
"That you give charity while you are healthy and tight-fisted,
fearing poverty and aspiring to wealth.
Do not delay until the soul reaches the throat,
only then to say, 'Give this much to so-and-so, and that much to so-and-so,'
when it already belongs to so-and-so."
Agreed upon.
An insightful point:
The deceased never wishes to return to this worldly life,
except to give charity.
Recite, if you will:
“And spend of that wherewith We have provided you before death cometh unto one of you and he saith: My Lord! If only thou wouldst reprieve me for a little while, then I would give alms and be among the righteous.” (63:10)
“And spend of that wherewith We have provided you before death cometh unto one of you and he saith: My Lord! If only thou wouldst reprieve me for a little while, then I would give alms and be among the righteous.” (63:10)
"So that I might give charity and be among the righteous."
On the authority of Abu Farwah, who said:
I heard Sa'id Ibn al-Musayyib,
on the authority of 'Umar Ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), saying:
"It was mentioned to me that he said:
'Verily, deeds will boast to one another,
and charity will say,
"I am the most virtuous of you."'"
And on the authority of Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:
"Prayer is the pillar of Islam,
jihad is the pinnacle of deed,
and charity is an extraordinary thing;
and charity is an extraordinary thing;
and charity is an extraordinary thing."
