Among the beauties of the Prophetic biography (Seerah)
Is his magnificent forgiveness.
They caused him profound harm,
Drove him from his home,
Attacked his Companions,
Conspired against him,
And fought him on numerous occasions.
Yet Allah granted him victory over them,
Breaking their power and shattering their arrogance.
When he encountered them at the conquest of Makkah,
Forgiveness prevailed over vengeance,
Clemency over retribution,
And pardon over retaliation.
Through this, he attained honor and his nobility became manifest.
People were astonished by his character,
For he is the one who said:
"Allah increases a servant in nothing but honor through forgiveness."
They witness his words to them in the Seerah:
"Go, for you are the free ones."
He released them, set them free, and bestowed grace upon them.
Thus, the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, recorded
A historical stance without parallel,
Which is inscribed among the noble character traits.
Only those of great soul do such things,
Those who prioritize the hereafter over this world,
Who do not seek vengeance except for the sake of Allah,
Who prefer the call to faith over personal status,
And who strive for the pleasure of Allah, not His displeasure.
And Allah is the One whose help is sought.
Allah the Exalted says:
“The guerdon of an ill-deed is an ill the like thereof. But whosoever pardoneth and amendeth, his wage is the affair of Allah. Lo! He loveth not wrong-doers.” (42:40)
"But whoever pardons and makes reconciliation, his reward is [due] from Allah."

Among the things that assist in this
Is a sound heart, purified from all ailments,
Looking toward the hereafter and the greatness of Allah’s bounty,
Rising above the whims of the self,
And struggling to embody the character of the great,
And the Prophetic characteristics (Shama'il) of Islam.
And Allah is the Grantor of success.
