WEBVTT 00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:03.000 In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 00:00:03.000 --> 00:00:09.060 The story of Yusuf, peace be upon him, and the wife of al-'Aziz. 00:00:09.060 --> 00:00:17.579 Racing toward the door is a means of salvation from temptation. 00:00:17.579 --> 00:00:23.579 Yusuf, peace be upon him, did not content himself with mere theoretical discourse in repelling the temptation of the wife of al-'Aziz. 00:00:23.579 --> 00:00:28.579 Which represents one of the most intense forms of temptation women can pose to men. 00:00:28.579 --> 00:00:32.579 Rather, he hastened to repel it with a practical solution. 00:00:32.579 --> 00:00:35.579 He rushed to exit the site of the temptation. 00:00:35.579 --> 00:00:37.579 Allah the Almighty says: 00:00:37.579 --> 00:00:42.770 "And they both raced to the door, and she tore his shirt from the back." 00:00:42.770 --> 00:00:45.770 In this, there is a lesson for every young man and woman: 00:00:45.770 --> 00:00:49.770 To physically distance themselves from places of temptation. 00:00:49.770 --> 00:00:53.770 And not to be satisfied with theoretical talk when facing such trials. 00:00:53.770 --> 00:00:59.770 Furthermore, they should not rely solely on the faith and righteous deeds they possess 00:00:59.770 --> 00:01:02.770 while remaining in the midst of temptation. 00:01:02.770 --> 00:01:06.769 For Yusuf, peace be upon him, despite being a prophet among the prophets, 00:01:06.769 --> 00:01:09.769 did not rely on that alone, despite his high station. 00:01:09.769 --> 00:01:13.769 Instead, he hastened to flee from the site of the temptation. 00:01:13.769 --> 00:01:16.859 The action taken by Yusuf, peace be upon him, 00:01:16.859 --> 00:01:20.859 was the same action taken by the wife of al-'Aziz, 00:01:20.859 --> 00:01:23.859 namely, racing toward the door. 00:01:23.859 --> 00:01:28.859 However, the intention behind this haste differed between them. 00:01:28.859 --> 00:01:33.930 Yusuf, peace be upon him, raced the wife of al-'Aziz to the door 00:01:33.930 --> 00:01:37.930 to flee from the site of the temptation to which she was inviting him. 00:01:37.930 --> 00:01:42.930 The wife of al-'Aziz raced Yusuf, peace be upon him, to the door 00:01:42.930 --> 00:01:54.019 to prevent him from fleeing the site of the temptation. 00:01:54.019 --> 00:02:20.020 She sought to prevent his exit, even using force to stop him, which resulted in the tearing of Yusuf’s shirt. There is an important benefit here for every young man and woman: when you flee from places of temptation, there are those who will pursue you by every means to cause you to fall and to prevent your escape. 00:02:20.020 --> 00:02:38.020 They will never hesitate to use all the power at their disposal to cause young men and women to fall into temptation and immorality; therefore, the strength of your flight from places of temptation must exceed the power of the attraction used by those who follow their desires. 00:02:38.020 --> 00:02:51.020 Yusuf’s shirt was torn by the force of the wife of al-'Aziz pulling him from one side, and the force of Yusuf, peace be upon him, pulling away from her on the other, resulting in the tearing of the garment. 00:02:51.020 --> 00:03:13.060 You may suffer some material loss to your possessions, O young men and women, when you flee from contemporary temptations to protect your religion; do not dwell on them or grieve over them, for salvation may lie in what we appear to have lost. 00:03:13.060 --> 00:03:36.219 The strength required today for young men and women to face the contemporary temptations orchestrated by those who follow their desires is not physical strength, but rather the strength of faith, against which all the waves of temptation intended to destroy the youth will shatter. 00:03:36.219 --> 00:03:55.250 This strength of faith begins by holding fast to the firm rope of Allah, which is the Great Qur'an, by acting upon it and transforming it into a way of life that governs the life of the young man and woman in both small and great matters. 00:03:55.250 --> 00:04:04.250 And by taking lessons from the stories of the prophets and those who came before in knowing how to confront the people of falsehood with evidence and proof. 00:04:05.250 --> 00:04:12.280 Then, by following the example of the noble Prophet, peace be upon him, in compliance with the saying of Allah the Almighty: 00:04:12.280 --> 00:04:29.279 “Verily in the messenger of Allah ye have a good example for him who looketh unto Allah and the Last Day, and remembereth Allah much.” (33:21) 00:04:29.279 --> 00:04:37.699 Through studying his Prophetic biography and knowing his guidance for us in such circumstances and trials. 00:04:37.699 --> 00:04:48.790 Then, by studying the biographies of the righteous throughout the past centuries—the scholars, callers, and reformers—to steady the heart upon the truth, as Allah the Almighty says: 00:04:48.790 --> 00:05:08.860 “And all that We relate unto thee of the story of the messengers is in order that thereby We may make firm thy heart.
