A summary of the concepts held by the Ahl al-Sunnah. Liberalism. Liberalism is derived from the word "liberty." It is an English word that means freedom. Thus, liberalism— Liberalism signifies liberation and emancipation. It is intended to mean liberation from any constraint that restricts a person in their thinking, speech, or actions. This includes the constraints of the purified Sharia and the limits set by Allah, the Almighty and Majestic. In fact, this is the very reason for the emergence of liberal thought. It appeared among them as a reaction against religion— A religion that had been subjected to distortion and had led to the domination of the clergy over the people. So, instead of searching for the true religion, They inclined toward liberation from all religions, even the true religion. Consequently, they fell into the servitude of whims, the devil, and base desires. Liberal philosophy continues to fight against religion and the fundamentalist orientation in general to this very day. Many parties in the West are based upon it today, Such as the Democratic Party in America. Meanwhile, the Republican Party is based upon fundamentalism, according to their understanding. Since freedom must necessarily have constraints to prevent it from harming others, The liberals were forced to establish laws by which they claim to regulate rights among human beings. The final result was complete liberation from the constraints of religion alone, And a freedom restricted by man-made systems to regulate the relationship between people, as they claim. However, liberalism only permitted religiosity as a matter of personal freedom, not as a binding obligation. Thus, they allowed for a personal religiosity that does not obligate others to anything.
