The Everlasting Deeds of righteousness
The reward of the mu'adhdhins with their Lord
On the authority of Mu'awiyah Ibn Abi Sufyan, may Allah be pleased with them both, who said:
I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, say:
"The mu'adhdhins will have the longest necks of all people on the Day of Resurrection."
Narrated by Muslim.
This hadith highlights the elevated status and lofty rank of the mu'adhdhins on the Day of Resurrection,
whether this is through their outward distinction,
by having long necks so that people may recognize them,
and so that they may be spared the terrors of that gathering,
or through their spiritual distinction,
which is manifested in the height of their ranks and their honor among all creation,
as a reward for them having raised the remembrance of Allah,
and for their calling of the servants to prayer.
