On the authority of Al-Nawwas bin Sam’an, may God be pleased with him
On the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, he said
Righteousness is good character, and sin is whatever wavers within your soul.
And I hated for people to see it.
Narrated by Muslim
On the authority of Wabisa Ibn Ma’bad, may God be pleased with him, he said
I came to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.
And he said
You have come to ask about righteousness
I said yes
And he said
Consult your heart
Righteousness is what the soul is at ease with and the heart is at ease with.
Sin is that which wavers in the soul and hesitates in the chest.
What is true is good character and what the heart reassures and settles upon
While sin is what causes disturbance in the soul and is feared to appear in front of people
The sincere believer returns to his sound heart and to what pleases God in his actions
The hadith encourages self-control and abandoning doubts
Adhering to virtuous morals that combine internal goodness and external goodness
