The essence of the concepts of Ahl al-Sunnah.
The practical movement of this religion and its seriousness.
Since Islam is a religion that is both practical and idealistic,
because it is from Allah Almighty,
it is therefore a religion of seriousness and decisive action, not of jest.
It confronts human reality with means commensurate with its practical existence.
And the movement of this religion
has faced and continues to face a state of ignorance in belief and conception,
upon which practical systems are founded,
supported by authorities possessing material power.
Therefore, the serious practicality of this religion
confronts these states of ignorance through invitation and explanation,
to correct beliefs, concepts, and perceptions,
and to prepare the means to confront it with force and struggle (jihad),
to remove those barriers that stand between people and their understanding of this religion,
and subsequently their embracing it after it has reached them clearly,
without coercion towards them for that.
Thus, the serious movement of this religion
is not content with mere explanation in the face of material authority,
nor does it use coercion and compulsion for people's hearts.
The seriousness of this religion dictates that its movement should have stages,
each stage having its own means commensurate with its practical needs.
So each stage hands over to the next,
from the stage of "hold back your hands" to the permission for struggle (jihad), to its obligation,
then concluding with the verse of the sword.
And Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy on him, said,
"The foundation of religion is with the guiding Book and the supporting iron."
As Allah Almighty mentioned,
so everyone must strive to align the Qur'an and the iron for Allah.
And seek what is with Him, seeking Allah's help in that.
