One time, an emir sent me on a mission before Najd, and I was placed there
In the Battle of Mutah, the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, chose Zaid bin Haritha, may God be pleased with him, as commander of the army
He said that if Zaid was injured, then Jaafar, and if Jaafar was injured, then Abdullah bin Rawahah
As soon as the battle began, the fighting raged
Until the three leaders fell one after another in the face of the enemy's massive numbers
When the flag fell with the martyrdom of Abdullah bin Rawahah, may God be pleased with him
The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, did not assign anyone to carry it after him
I went forward and carried the flag and said, “O Muslims!
Meet a man among you
They said: You said I will not do it
The people dispersed and were defeated
So I advanced with the flag and saw Khalid bin Al-Walid, may God be pleased with him
He converted to Islam only three months ago
So I pushed it to him
Khaled said, “I will not take it from you.”
You are more deserving of it, since you witnessed Badr and have the Qur’an with you
I said, “By God, Khaled, I only took it for you.”
You know better about fighting than me
I called out to the Muslims at the top of my voice
O Muslims, do you accept Khalid’s leadership?
They said, Oh God, yes
So Khalid bin Al-Walid, may God be pleased with him, took the flag
The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said while he was in Medina
Describing the events of the battle to those with him
Taking the banner is one of the swords of God
So God granted them victory
After the death of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace
I went out with the Muslim armies to fight the apostates
When Khalid bin Al-Walid, may God be pleased with him, approached the people
He sent me and Okasha bin Mohsen as a vanguard before him
Let's bring him the news
We met Tuliha bin Khuwaylid and his brother Salamah
A vanguard for the people behind them
So Taliha and Okasha fought
Salama and I fought
Salamah soon killed me
And Taliha’s cry for his brother Salamah
I mean about the man, he is my killer
Salamah and his brother thought about Okasha, may God be pleased with him
So he killed him
Then Khalid bin Al-Walid came, accompanied by the Muslims
They saw us killed
They found us with reprehensible wounds
Our view displeased them
They dug for us and buried us with our blood and clothes
And after a period of time
Tuliha bin Khuwaylid came as a Muslim to Omar, the Commander of the Faithful
Omar said to him
How can I love you when you killed the two righteous men, Okasha and Sahiba?
Talha said
God honored them with my hand
And he was not insulted by their hands
