In his will to Abu Musa Al-Ash’ari, may God be pleased with him, regarding governance and judiciary
Revising the truth is better than persisting in falsehood
This is what we express today by saying:
Returning to the truth is a virtue
One of the most important things that helps a person to commit to returning to the truth after seeking God’s help for that
First, he should not be fanatical about himself, her mistakes, and her whims
He is happy and does not get angry with those who point out his faults
As Omar bin Al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him, said
I love the people who point out my faults
Secondly, his continuous review of his words, actions and positions
And make sure it conforms to Sharia
Thirdly, lack of courtesy or flattery in telling the truth and adhering to it
Whatever contradicts it is stated
Fourth: Constant self-accountability and the initiative to sincere repentance
