The believing servant is never free from the need for peace and tranquility throughout his life.
He requires this tranquility in his acts of worship.
So that he may attain true humility and submission before Allah the Exalted.
And focus his heart entirely upon Him alone, glorified be He.
Thereby tasting the sweetness of his worship.
And fulfilling the very purpose of his existence.
He also needs tranquility when faced with whispers that challenge the foundations of his faith.
So that his heart may remain steadfast and not deviate.
He needs tranquility when faced with whispers and intrusive thoughts that undermine his righteous deeds.
So that they do not gain strength and transform into intentions that diminish his faith.
Just as showing off does to a person if it accompanies his righteous deeds.
He needs tranquility and peace when faced with various causes of fear and trials.
So that his heart may remain firm and his spirit composed.
Finally, he also needs tranquility during times of joy and happiness.
So that his joy does not overwhelm him and cause him to overstep his bounds.
Which would turn that joy into a source of distress and ruin.
