00:00:00.370 --> 00:00:03.370
A verse and its Tafsir

00:00:03.370 --> 00:00:07.580
Allah the Exalted says:

00:00:07.580 --> 00:00:15.580
"And remember when your Lord proclaimed: 'If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor];

00:00:15.580 --> 00:00:22.579
but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe.'"

00:00:22.579 --> 00:00:27.789
The meaning of gratitude is clear and well-known.

00:00:27.789 --> 00:00:30.789
As for the denial mentioned in this verse,

00:00:30.789 --> 00:00:32.789
it refers to the denial of blessings,

00:00:32.789 --> 00:00:34.789
which is the opposite of gratitude.

00:00:34.789 --> 00:00:38.920
Whoever is grateful for a blessing is promised an increase,

00:00:38.920 --> 00:00:44.920
and whoever denies it is warned of a severe punishment.
