WEBVTT 00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:05.089 In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 00:00:05.089 --> 00:00:09.089 It is Paradise. 00:00:09.089 --> 00:00:23.329 The eternal abode of the people of Paradise. 00:00:23.329 --> 00:00:25.329 Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 00:00:25.329 --> 00:00:28.329 And may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon our Prophet Muhammad. 00:00:28.329 --> 00:00:31.329 And upon all his family and companions. 00:00:31.329 --> 00:00:33.649 To proceed: 00:00:33.649 --> 00:00:35.649 O people of Paradise, 00:00:35.649 --> 00:00:37.649 You are now the guests of the Most Merciful. 00:00:37.649 --> 00:00:40.649 And the right of a guest is to be honored. 00:00:40.649 --> 00:00:43.710 Behold, the angels are here to welcome us with congratulations. 00:00:43.710 --> 00:00:46.710 Then, they present to us the gift of the guest. 00:00:46.710 --> 00:00:49.710 It is the extra portion of the whale’s liver. 00:00:49.710 --> 00:00:52.710 It is a small piece, 00:00:52.710 --> 00:00:55.710 Attached to the top of the liver, 00:00:55.710 --> 00:00:58.710 And it is the most delicious part of the whale. 00:00:58.710 --> 00:01:01.710 It is the first food we shall taste in Paradise. 00:01:01.710 --> 00:01:04.709 This whale is from Paradise itself. 00:01:04.709 --> 00:01:07.709 The extra portion of its liver suffices all the people of Paradise. 00:01:08.709 --> 00:01:12.129 Once we have tasted this meal, 00:01:12.129 --> 00:01:15.129 And our stomachs are refreshed by this wholesome food, 00:01:15.129 --> 00:01:18.129 Then the ox is slaughtered for us, 00:01:18.129 --> 00:01:21.129 Which grazes on the outskirts of Paradise. 00:01:21.129 --> 00:01:24.129 It is then presented to us in the finest manner, 00:01:24.129 --> 00:01:27.129 Of hospitality and generosity. 00:01:27.129 --> 00:01:30.129 We eat from it and drink alongside it, 00:01:30.129 --> 00:01:33.129 From the water of Salsabil. 00:01:33.129 --> 00:01:36.129 And we hear a beautiful call that delights our souls: 00:01:36.129 --> 00:01:39.129 "Eat and drink in satisfaction." 00:01:39.129 --> 00:01:42.129 “(And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days.” (69:24) 00:01:42.129 --> 00:01:45.319 Yes, O people of Paradise, 00:01:45.319 --> 00:01:48.319 Eat of every delicious food, 00:01:48.319 --> 00:01:51.319 And drink of every delightful beverage, 00:01:51.319 --> 00:01:54.319 A complete and perfect satisfaction, 00:01:54.319 --> 00:01:57.319 Without any impurity or distress. 00:01:57.319 --> 00:02:00.319 This is your reward, 00:02:00.319 --> 00:02:03.319 For what you sent forth in the fleeting days of the world, 00:02:03.319 --> 00:02:06.319 Of righteous deeds: 00:02:06.319 --> 00:02:09.319 Prayer, fasting, and charity, 00:02:09.319 --> 00:02:12.319 Hajj and Umrah, 00:02:12.319 --> 00:02:15.610 And kindness toward creation. 00:02:15.610 --> 00:02:18.610 For Allah made deeds a cause for entering Paradise, 00:02:18.610 --> 00:02:21.610 The substance of its bliss, 00:02:21.610 --> 00:02:25.219 And the foundation of its happiness. 00:02:25.219 --> 00:02:28.250 O people of Paradise, 00:02:28.250 --> 00:02:31.250 You do not drink because of thirst, 00:02:32.250 --> 00:02:35.250 For there is no thirst after it ever again. 00:02:35.250 --> 00:02:38.310 Likewise, you do not eat because of hunger, 00:02:38.310 --> 00:02:41.310 Rather, these are successive pleasures, 00:02:41.310 --> 00:02:44.310 And continuous desires, 00:02:44.310 --> 00:02:47.379 Without sin or reproach. 00:02:47.379 --> 00:02:50.539 Did Allah the Almighty not say: 00:02:50.539 --> 00:02:53.539 "Indeed, it is [promised] for you not to be hungry therein, 00:02:53.539 --> 00:02:56.539 Nor to be unclothed, 00:02:56.539 --> 00:02:59.539 And that you will not be thirsty therein, nor hot from the sun"? 00:02:59.539 --> 00:03:02.729 One of us might see a bird in Paradise, 00:03:02.729 --> 00:03:05.729 And desire it without being hungry, 00:03:05.729 --> 00:03:08.729 So the bird comes to him roasted, 00:03:08.729 --> 00:03:11.729 In the most delicious state, 00:03:11.729 --> 00:03:14.889 On a platter of gold. 00:03:14.889 --> 00:03:17.889 And the birds of Paradise, O brothers of faith, 00:03:17.889 --> 00:03:20.889 Are like the Bactrian camels, 00:03:20.889 --> 00:03:23.889 Long-necked creatures, 00:03:23.889 --> 00:03:26.889 Grazing among the trees of Paradise. 00:03:26.889 --> 00:03:30.300 Blessed is he who eats from them. 00:03:30.300 --> 00:03:33.300 In Paradise, there are also lote trees (Sidr), 00:03:33.300 --> 00:03:36.460 Which you surely recognize. 00:03:36.460 --> 00:03:39.460 In this world, they are full of thorns, 00:03:39.460 --> 00:03:42.460 But in Paradise, as Allah the Almighty said of them: 00:03:42.460 --> 00:03:45.460 "Among lote trees with thorns removed," 00:03:45.460 --> 00:03:48.460 Its thorns have been removed and cleared away, 00:03:48.460 --> 00:03:51.460 And in the place of every thorn, 00:03:51.460 --> 00:03:54.460 There is a fruit from the fruits of Paradise. 00:03:54.460 --> 00:03:57.460 The fruit is larger than great jars. 00:03:57.460 --> 00:04:00.780 We also have in Paradise the layered banana trees (Talh), 00:04:00.780 --> 00:04:03.780 Which are the bananas, 00:04:03.780 --> 00:04:06.780 Stacked one upon another, 00:04:06.780 --> 00:04:09.780 In an orderly fashion, 00:04:09.780 --> 00:04:12.780 From top to bottom, 00:04:12.780 --> 00:04:16.009 So that you can barely see the trunk of the tree. 00:04:16.009 --> 00:04:19.100 We also have therein every kind of fruit, 00:04:19.100 --> 00:04:22.100 Which may resemble in shape and color, 00:04:22.100 --> 00:04:25.100 Those of the world, yet differ in taste and flavor. 00:04:25.100 --> 00:04:28.199 As Allah the Almighty informed us: 00:04:28.199 --> 00:04:31.230 "Whenever they are provided with a provision, 00:04:31.230 --> 00:04:34.230 Of the fruit thereof," 00:04:34.230 --> 00:04:37.230 “And give glad tidings (O Muhammad) unto those who believe and do good works; that theirs are Gardens underneath which rivers flow; as often as they are regaled with food of the fruit thereof, they say: this is what was given us aforetime; and it is given to them in resemblance. There for them are pure companions; there for ever they abide.” (2:25) 00:04:37.230 --> 00:04:40.300 Meaning in the world, 00:04:40.300 --> 00:04:43.300 Allah says: "They will say, 'This is what we were provided with before,' 00:04:43.300 --> 00:04:45.360 And they will be given things in likeness." 00:04:45.360 --> 00:04:48.360 Resembling one another in appearance and color, 00:04:48.360 --> 00:04:51.709 But differing in taste. 00:04:51.709 --> 00:04:54.709 We have in Paradise the Ajwa date, 00:04:54.709 --> 00:04:57.740 For the Ajwa is from the dates of Paradise. 00:04:57.740 --> 00:05:00.740 But when this date descended, 00:05:00.740 --> 00:05:03.740 From Paradise to the world, 00:05:03.740 --> 00:05:06.740 Its color and taste changed, 00:05:06.740 --> 00:05:09.740 Just as the Black Stone and the Yemeni Corner changed, 00:05:09.740 --> 00:05:12.740 When they descended from Paradise, 00:05:12.740 --> 00:05:16.220 Allah dimmed their light, and they were altered. 00:05:16.220 --> 00:05:19.220 O my companions, 00:05:19.220 --> 00:05:22.220 We have whatever fruit we desire, 00:05:22.220 --> 00:05:25.220 It is never cut off from us, 00:05:25.220 --> 00:05:28.220 At any time whatsoever, 00:05:28.220 --> 00:05:31.220 As it is cut off in the world, 00:05:31.220 --> 00:05:34.319 Like summer fruit in winter, 00:05:34.319 --> 00:05:37.319 Or winter fruit in summer. 00:05:37.319 --> 00:05:40.319 Nor is it forbidden, 00:05:40.319 --> 00:05:43.319 As the fruits of the world are forbidden, 00:05:43.319 --> 00:05:46.319 To many who desire them, 00:05:47.319 --> 00:05:50.420 Due to their high price. 00:05:50.420 --> 00:05:53.420 But in Paradise, if one of us desires it, 00:05:53.420 --> 00:05:56.420 It falls into his mouth, 00:05:56.420 --> 00:05:59.420 Or draws near to him until he takes it with his hand. 00:05:59.420 --> 00:06:02.509 We eat of its fruits while standing, 00:06:02.509 --> 00:06:05.509 Sitting, or reclining, 00:06:05.509 --> 00:06:08.800 In whatever state we wish. 00:06:08.800 --> 00:06:11.800 Did Allah the Almighty not say: 00:06:11.800 --> 00:06:14.860 "Its fruit will be low and easy to reach"? 00:06:14.860 --> 00:06:17.860 It descends to the believing servant, 00:06:17.860 --> 00:06:21.089 So he may pick from it whatever he wishes. 00:06:21.089 --> 00:06:24.089 We also have in Paradise date palms, grapes, and pomegranates, 00:06:24.089 --> 00:06:27.089 And although they are among the fruits of Paradise, 00:06:27.089 --> 00:06:30.089 Allah the Almighty singled them out, 00:06:30.089 --> 00:06:33.089 By mentioning them to praise and honor them. 00:06:33.089 --> 00:06:36.250 We have of every fruit two kinds, 00:06:36.250 --> 00:06:39.250 Meaning two varieties, 00:06:39.250 --> 00:06:42.250 Each variety having a delight and color, 00:06:42.250 --> 00:06:45.279 That the other does not possess. 00:06:45.279 --> 00:06:48.279 A single cluster of them, 00:06:48.279 --> 00:06:51.279 Is enough food for all the people of the world. 00:06:51.279 --> 00:06:54.730 And know, my brothers, also, 00:06:54.730 --> 00:06:57.730 Just as the people of Paradise do not hunger, 00:06:57.730 --> 00:07:00.730 They also do not become full. 00:07:00.730 --> 00:07:03.730 Its food and shade are perpetual. 00:07:03.730 --> 00:07:06.730 So be at ease; you will not be satiated therein, 00:07:06.730 --> 00:07:09.730 For satiety is harmful and heavy. 00:07:10.730 --> 00:07:13.730 No matter how much you eat, 00:07:13.730 --> 00:07:16.730 There will always be room to eat more. 00:07:16.730 --> 00:07:19.759 Because if you were to become full, 00:07:19.759 --> 00:07:22.759 The pleasure of food would cease for you, 00:07:22.759 --> 00:07:25.759 Even for a while. 00:07:25.759 --> 00:07:28.790 And there is no cessation of pleasures in Paradise. 00:07:28.790 --> 00:07:31.790 What you eat will exit by way of, 00:07:31.790 --> 00:07:34.790 Perspiration and sweat that smells like musk, 00:07:34.790 --> 00:07:37.790 And room will remain in the stomach, 00:07:37.790 --> 00:07:40.790 So that you may enjoy more, 00:07:40.790 --> 00:07:43.790 Without interruption or fullness, 00:07:43.790 --> 00:07:47.110 Or illness or pain. 00:07:47.110 --> 00:07:50.110 Our drink in Paradise is of the best, 00:07:50.110 --> 00:07:53.110 Of drinks and the most delicious. 00:07:53.110 --> 00:07:56.110 From a sealed nectar, 00:07:56.110 --> 00:07:59.110 Nothing enters it to diminish its pleasure, 00:07:59.110 --> 00:08:02.110 Or spoil its taste. 00:08:02.110 --> 00:08:05.110 Its seal is musk, meaning its end, 00:08:05.110 --> 00:08:08.110 Usually, what is poured is musk. 00:08:08.110 --> 00:08:11.339 We pass the cups among ourselves, 00:08:11.339 --> 00:08:14.339 And the goblets of wine circulate among us, 00:08:14.339 --> 00:08:17.339 Wine not like the wine of the world, 00:08:17.339 --> 00:08:20.339 Nor does it resemble it in any way. 00:08:20.339 --> 00:08:24.339 Its color is white, one of the most beautiful colors, 00:08:24.339 --> 00:08:28.339 And its taste is a delight for the drinkers. 00:08:28.339 --> 00:08:31.339 It has no effect on the mind, 00:08:31.339 --> 00:08:34.340 There is no idle talk in it, 00:08:34.340 --> 00:08:36.340 It does not remove the intellect, 00:08:36.340 --> 00:08:39.429 Nor is there any sin upon the one who drinks it. 00:08:39.429 --> 00:08:42.429 These cups are filled and successive, 00:08:42.429 --> 00:08:45.429 As Allah the Almighty recounted regarding them, 00:08:45.429 --> 00:08:48.429 In His Noble Book, saying: 00:08:48.429 --> 00:08:51.850 "And full cups." 00:08:51.850 --> 00:08:54.850 One of us, the people of Paradise, desires a drink, 00:08:54.850 --> 00:08:57.850 From the drink of Paradise, 00:08:57.850 --> 00:09:00.850 So the pitcher comes to him until it falls into his hand, 00:09:00.850 --> 00:09:02.850 He drinks from it, 00:09:02.850 --> 00:09:06.039 Then the pitcher returns to its place. 00:09:06.039 --> 00:09:09.039 And at other times, 00:09:09.039 --> 00:09:12.039 Immortal youths circulate among them, 00:09:12.039 --> 00:09:15.039 With cups, pitchers, and goblets, 00:09:15.039 --> 00:09:18.039 Containing the drink of Paradise, 00:09:18.039 --> 00:09:20.200 That they desire. 00:09:20.200 --> 00:09:23.330 And truthful is Allah who says: 00:09:23.330 --> 00:09:27.330 “Lo! the righteous shall drink of a cup whereof the mixture is of Kafur,” (76:5) 00:09:27.330 --> 00:09:30.330 "Whose mixture is of camphor." 00:09:30.330 --> 00:09:33.330 Where the servants of Allah drink, 00:09:33.330 --> 00:09:36.330 They make it flow in streams. 00:09:36.330 --> 00:09:39.840 And you shall be adorned, O people of Paradise, 00:09:39.840 --> 00:09:42.840 Therein with various ornaments. 00:09:42.840 --> 00:09:45.870 Sometimes with bracelets of silver, 00:09:45.870 --> 00:09:48.870 Sometimes with bracelets of gold, 00:09:48.870 --> 00:09:51.870 Sometimes with bracelets of pearls, 00:09:51.870 --> 00:09:54.870 And sometimes with gold studded with pearls. 00:09:54.870 --> 00:09:57.870 Sometimes the ornaments are gathered for them, 00:09:57.870 --> 00:10:00.870 Sometimes the ornaments are gathered for them, 00:10:00.870 --> 00:10:03.870 So they wear bracelets of gold, 00:10:03.870 --> 00:10:06.870 And bracelets of silver, 00:10:06.870 --> 00:10:09.870 And bracelets of pearls all at once. 00:10:09.870 --> 00:10:12.870 These ornaments, 00:10:12.870 --> 00:10:15.870 Have an intense light, 00:10:15.870 --> 00:10:18.870 So if a man from the people of Paradise were to appear, 00:10:18.870 --> 00:10:21.870 And his bracelets were revealed, 00:10:21.870 --> 00:10:24.870 They would dim the light of the sun. 00:10:26.379 --> 00:10:29.379 Your adornment shall reach 00:10:29.379 --> 00:10:32.379 to the extent that your wudu reached. 00:10:32.379 --> 00:10:35.379 Whoever performs wudu perfectly, 00:10:35.379 --> 00:10:38.539 his adornment in Paradise shall be more profound. 00:10:38.539 --> 00:10:41.539 Upon your heads shall be crowns 00:10:41.539 --> 00:10:44.539 from the crowns of Paradise. 00:10:44.539 --> 00:10:47.539 And in the crown, there is a jewel, 00:10:47.539 --> 00:10:50.539 a single ruby of which is better than the world 00:10:50.539 --> 00:10:53.960 and all that is within it. 00:10:54.960 --> 00:10:57.960 And while we are in this state of bliss, 00:10:57.960 --> 00:11:00.960 some people from among us shall arise, 00:11:00.960 --> 00:11:03.960 and they shall clothe their parents in two garments 00:11:03.960 --> 00:11:06.960 of the most magnificent attire, 00:11:06.960 --> 00:11:09.960 for which the entire world cannot compensate them. 00:11:09.960 --> 00:11:12.960 They will ask, "For what have we been clothed 00:11:12.960 --> 00:11:15.960 in these garments?" 00:11:15.960 --> 00:11:19.279 It will be said to them, "Because your child took 00:11:19.279 --> 00:11:22.279 to the Qur'an." 00:11:23.279 --> 00:11:26.279 Marvel then at the napkins of the people of Paradise, 00:11:26.279 --> 00:11:29.279 which they use and then cast aside, 00:11:29.279 --> 00:11:32.379 without a second thought. 00:11:32.379 --> 00:11:35.379 These napkins in Paradise 00:11:35.379 --> 00:11:38.379 are better than the finest silk of this world. 00:11:38.379 --> 00:11:41.789 Among the items of adornment in Paradise 00:11:41.789 --> 00:11:44.860 are combs and incense burners. 00:11:44.860 --> 00:11:47.860 We shall have combs of gold and silver 00:11:47.860 --> 00:11:50.860 to comb our hair, 00:11:50.860 --> 00:11:53.860 even though it shall neither become disheveled nor dirty. 00:11:53.860 --> 00:11:57.049 We shall perfume ourselves with fragrant oud, 00:11:57.049 --> 00:12:00.049 even though the scent of musk 00:12:00.049 --> 00:12:03.049 shall emanate from our very bodies. 00:12:03.049 --> 00:12:06.049 Our censers, in which the embers are placed, 00:12:06.049 --> 00:12:09.049 shall be for incense made of aloe wood, 00:12:09.049 --> 00:12:12.179 which is Indian oud. 00:12:12.179 --> 00:12:15.179 All of this is of the same nature as the blessings 00:12:15.179 --> 00:12:18.210 that we used to see in this world. 00:12:19.210 --> 00:12:22.210 O you who yearn, 00:12:22.210 --> 00:12:25.850 this is your Paradise from within. 00:12:25.850 --> 00:12:28.850 It has no equal. 00:12:28.850 --> 00:12:31.850 It is the abode of absolute bliss, 00:12:31.850 --> 00:12:34.850 in which there is no restriction upon anyone. 00:12:34.850 --> 00:12:37.850 “Therein are brought round for them trays of gold and goblets, and therein is all that souls desire and eyes find sweet. And ye are immortal therein.” (43:71) 00:12:37.850 --> 00:12:40.850 It is a delight to the eyes, 00:12:40.850 --> 00:12:43.850 and it is an everlasting eternity, 00:12:43.850 --> 00:12:46.850 and a permanence in its beauty. 00:12:46.850 --> 00:12:50.679 Work for the abode of permanence; 00:12:50.679 --> 00:12:53.679 Ridwan is its guardian, 00:12:53.679 --> 00:12:56.679 the Neighbor is Ahmad, and the Most Merciful is its Builder. 00:12:56.679 --> 00:12:59.740 Its earth is gold, 00:12:59.740 --> 00:13:02.740 its soil is musk, 00:13:02.740 --> 00:13:05.740 and saffron is the grass growing within it. 00:13:05.740 --> 00:13:08.840 Whoever wishes to purchase a home in Firdaws 00:13:08.840 --> 00:13:11.840 must build it 00:13:11.840 --> 00:13:14.899 with a rak'ah in the darkness of the night, performed in secret, 00:13:14.899 --> 00:13:17.899 and by satisfying the hunger of a poor person 00:13:17.899 --> 00:13:20.899 on a day of severe famine, 00:13:20.899 --> 00:13:24.129 when prices have soared. 00:13:24.129 --> 00:13:27.129 The soul covets this world, yet it knows 00:13:27.129 --> 00:13:30.129 that safety from it 00:13:30.129 --> 00:13:33.190 lies in abandoning what it contains. 00:13:33.190 --> 00:13:36.190 We amass our wealth for our heirs, 00:13:36.190 --> 00:13:39.190 and we build our houses for the decay of time. 00:13:39.190 --> 00:13:42.320 There is no house for a person to inhabit after death 00:13:42.320 --> 00:13:45.320 except the one he built before his death. 00:13:45.320 --> 00:13:48.320 So whoever built it with good, 00:13:48.320 --> 00:13:51.419 his dwelling shall be pleasant, 00:13:51.419 --> 00:13:54.419 and whoever built it with evil, 00:13:54.419 --> 00:13:57.419 its builder shall be disappointed. 00:13:57.419 --> 00:14:00.610 So plant the roots of piety 00:14:00.610 --> 00:14:03.610 while you are still able, 00:14:03.610 --> 00:14:06.799 and know that you shall encounter them after death. 00:14:06.799 --> 00:14:09.799 You shall harvest the fruits tomorrow, 00:14:10.799 --> 00:14:13.799 where there is no fatigue, nor shall any distress reach it. 00:14:13.799 --> 00:14:16.990 What great honors these are, 00:14:16.990 --> 00:14:19.990 once they are attained, 00:14:19.990 --> 00:14:22.990 and what great souls 00:14:22.990 --> 00:14:26.440 shall encompass them. 00:14:26.440 --> 00:14:29.440 O Allah, we ask You for Paradise and its blessings, 00:14:29.440 --> 00:14:32.440 and we ask You for the highest Firdaws, 00:14:32.440 --> 00:14:35.570 without reckoning and without punishment. 00:14:35.570 --> 00:14:38.629 O Allah, answer our prayer. 00:14:38.629 --> 00:14:42.139 The journey has a continuation, 00:14:42.139 --> 00:14:48.440 for it is Paradise.
