In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful Conclusion from Al-Tabari’s interpretation It was summarized by Dr. Aqeel bin Salem Al-Shammari Surat Al-Mu'minun In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful If We had mercy on them and removed their harm, they would fly away blind If only we had mercy on those who do not believe in the afterlife And We removed from them their suffering of drought, barrenness, and the affliction of hunger In their arrogance and audacity, they hesitate before their Lord And We seized them with torment, but they did not submit to their Lord, nor did they supplicate We have punished these polytheists We made their livelihood difficult, made their country barren, and killed their families with the sword They did not submit to their Lord and submit to His commands and prohibitions, and they did not submit to Him Until, when We open upon them a door of severe torment, they will be lost in it Even if we open the door to famine and harm to them These polytheists became sad and regretted what had happened before them in denying the verses of God It is He who created for you hearing, sight, and hearts. You rarely doubt It is God who gave you the hearing with which you hear and the vision with which you see And the benefits that you understand How can it be impossible for whoever created it to begin with to bring it back? You are thankful, you liars, for God’s news of His giving you hearing, sight, and hearts a little It is He who produced you on earth, and to Him you will be gathered It is God who created you on earth, and to Him you will be gathered after your death Then you will be raised from your graves to a position of reckoning It is He who gives life and causes death, and to Him belongs the alternation of night and day. Do you not understand? It is God who gives life to His creation after they were dead sperm He will kill them after bringing them back to life He is the one who made night and day different Do you not understand, O people? The one who did these actions started without a foundation It is not impossible for him to revive the dead after they have perished Rather, they said the same as what the ancients said They said, "When we die and become dust and bones, will we be resurrected?" What do these polytheists think of God’s signs? But they said what their ancestors said They said: When we die, we will return to dust We will be resurrected from our graves, alive as we were before death This is something that does not exist We and our parents promised this before These are nothing but legends of the ancients They said: We were promised this promise that you promised us, O Muhammad Our fathers before us promised a people who mentioned that they were God’s messengers before you We didn't see it for real What is this that prepares us for resurrection after death? Except for what the ancients wrote in their books of hadiths and reports Which has no validity or truth Say, “Whose earth is it and who is on it, if you know?” They will say to God: Say, will you not remember? Say, O Muhammad, to her are those who deny the Hereafter Who owns the earth and all of its creation? If you know who owns it Then inform him that they will acknowledge that she is God’s queen So tell them, “Don’t you remember?” So you know that whoever was able to create that in the first place He is able to revive them after they die Say, “Who is the Lord of the Seven Heavens and the Lord of the Great Throne?” They will say to God: “Say, will you not fear God?” Tell them, O Muhammad, who is the Lord of the seven heavens and the Lord of the Throne surrounding that They will say all of that to God, so tell them Do you not fear His punishment for your disbelief in Him and your denial of His news and the news of His Messenger? Say, “Who holds the kingdom of everything?” He is generous and he is not respected He is generous and He is not benevolent, if you only knew They will say to God, “Say, I will bewitch you.” Say, O Muhammad, who holds the treasures of everything? He protects whomever he wants from those who mean evil to him No one abstains from someone who wants him badly So his torment and punishment will be warded off from him If you know his character from that They will say that the kingdom of everything The power over all things belongs to God So tell them, O Muhammad In what way does the lie really come to you? And the corrupt is true So you turn away from acknowledging the truth to which our Messenger Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, calls you Rather, We gave them the truth, and they are liars God did not have a son, nor was there any god with Him Then every god would destroy what he created, and some of them would be superior to others Glory be to God for what they describe He knows the unseen and the witnessed, so He is exalted above what they associate with Him What is the matter as these polytheists claim? That angels are daughters of God And that gods and idols are gods other than God Rather, We gave them certainty, which is Islam Indeed, the polytheists are liars in what they attribute to God They remove it from the child and the partner God has no son There was no one with him in the past who was worthy of worship Even if things were with him in the past or at the time of his creation, it would be appropriate to worship him Therefore, each of them is not isolated from what He created and is alone with it And you will prevail, one against the other The strong among them defeated the weak Glory be to God and may He be above what these polytheists describe Him as He knows the things that are hidden from His creation So God exalted and exalted the polytheism of these polytheists He described them as they described him Say, O Muhammad, my Lord, if you show me in these polytheists what you promise them of your punishment Do not destroy me with what you destroy them with Save me from your torment and wrath Do not place me among the polytheist people But make me among the saints you are pleased with Do not place me among the unjust people And We are capable of showing you what We promise them O Muhammad, we are determined to show you regarding these polytheists what we promise them of hastening the torment for them. We are capable of it So do not be saddened by their denial of what we promised them But we postpone that until the deadline for the Book reaches Repel with what is better than evil. We know best what they describe Pay, O Muhammad, with the trait that is better That is turning a blind eye and pardoning the ignorant polytheists And be patient with their harm This was his command to him before his command to fight them And He cursed us with evil deeds, as the polytheists harmed Him We know best what they describe God with They free him from the lies and slander against him And what they say about you is bad We reward them for all of that And say, “My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the instigations of the devils.” I seek refuge in You, Lord, lest they attend And say, O Muhammad, my Lord, I seek refuge in You from the suffocation and whisperings of the devils And say, “I seek refuge in You, Lord, lest they be present in my affairs.” Even when death comes to one of them, he says, “Lord, bring me back.” Perhaps I may do good with what I have left behind No, it is a word he said And behind them is an isthmus until the Day they are resurrected Even if death comes to one of these polytheists He said he regretted what he had missed Lord, bring me back to this world and bring me back to it So that I can do good with what I left off work before today I lost it and was alone in it No, it is not what he said This word is his saying, “O Lord, bring me back.” This polytheist said it There is a barrier in front of them, preventing them from returning Until the day they are resurrected from their graves If the trumpet is blown, there will be no lineage between them on that day There will be no lineage between them on that day, and they will not ask questions If he blows the pictures So everyone in the heavens and everyone on earth was shocked, except those whom God willed There will be no lineage between them on that day through which they can communicate And they don't wonder They do not visit each other and ask about their conditions and lineages Those whose scales are heavy are the ones who are successful And whoever's scales are light, those are the ones who lost their souls in hell to abide forever Their faces will be engulfed in fire, and they will burn in it Whoever's good deeds are heavy, those are the ones who will live forever in the gardens of bliss And if the scales of his good deeds are light, then those who deceived themselves will receive their blessings from God’s mercy They will abide in the fire of Hell forever. Their faces will be engulfed by the flame of fire, which will burn them There they are with their lips pulled away from their teeth due to the fire burning their faces It will be said to them: Were the verses of the Qur’an not recited to you in this world and you used to deny them? They say, “Our Lord, we have overcome what preceded us in Your foreknowledge and wrote down for us in the Mother of the Book.” We were a people who had strayed from the path of guidance and the goal of truth Our Lord, take us out of it, and if we return, we will be wrongdoers He said: Be humble about it and do not speak Our Lord, take us out of the Fire. If we return to the deeds that You hate from us, then we are wrongdoers The Lord said in response to them, “Sit in the fire and do not speak.” Indeed, there was a group of My servants saying, “Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us and have mercy on us, and You are the Best of the Merciful.” So you took them as a mockery until I made you forget My remembrance, and you were laughing at them God Almighty says that there was a group of My servants who were people of faith in God They say in this world, “Our Lord, we believe in you and your messengers, so forgive us and have mercy on us.” You are better than those who have mercy on the people of calamity, so do not torture us with your torment So you have taken the people who believe in me in this world as a mockery and a toy for you to mock Your mockery of them continued until you made me forget to mention it and distracted you from it, and you were laughing at them I have rewarded them today for their patience. Indeed, they are the victors Indeed, O polytheists of God, I reward those whom you took in this world as a mockery of the people of faith Because they were patient with what they used to face when you made fun of them They are the winners today of eternal bliss and lasting dignity He said: How many years did you stay on earth? They said, “We stayed for a day or part of a day, so ask the two numbers.” He said, “You only stayed for a short time, if only you had known.” He said to these wretches, how many years have you been in this world? They replied, “We stayed there for a day or part of a day.” So ask the numerals who count the number of months and years, because we do not know, we have forgotten that God said to them, “You did not stay on earth except for a short time.” If you only knew how much you would have stayed there Did you think that We created you in vain and that you would not be returned to Us? Did you think, O wretched ones, that We created you only as a game and in vain? And you will not be returned to your Lord after your death Then you will be rewarded for what you used to do in this world So exalted is God, the True King As these polytheists describe him, that he has a partner There is no deity to whom one should worship except Allah, Lord of the Noble Throne Whoever calls upon another god with God has no proof for it His account is deep Whoever calls upon another god with God has no proof for it His reckoning is with his Lord. Indeed, the disbelievers will not succeed And whoever supplicates with the deity for whom worship is not appropriate, except for another deity There is no evidence for what he says or does regarding that, nor is it clear The account of his bad deeds is with his Lord He will pay his reward if it is brought against him People who disbelieve in God will not succeed with Him They do not realize immortality and survival in bliss And say, O Muhammad, my Lord, cover my sins by pardoning them And have mercy on me by accepting your repentance And say, O Lord, you are better than having mercy on a sinner He accepted his repentance and did not punish her
