And ever is Allah, of what you do, Seeing." 00:01:08.299 --> 00:01:10.299 Al-Hafiz Ibn Kathir said: 00:01:10.299 --> 00:01:16.299 "Then Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, sent against the confederates a violent, gale-force wind, 00:01:16.299 --> 00:01:19.299 To the extent that not a single tent or possession remained standing for them, 00:01:19.299 --> 00:01:21.299 Nor could any fire be lit for them, 00:01:21.299 --> 00:01:24.299 Nor could they find any foothold or stability, 00:01:24.299 --> 00:01:27.299 Until they departed, frustrated and utterly ruined." 00:01:27.299 --> 00:01:29.299 And as for His saying, Exalted is He: 00:01:29.299 --> 00:01:31.299 "And armies you did not see," 00:01:31.299 --> 00:01:33.299 They were the angels, 00:01:33.299 --> 00:01:37.299 Who shook them violently and struck terror and fear into their hearts. 00:01:37.299 --> 00:01:40.299 Every tribal chieftain began calling out: 00:01:40.299 --> 00:01:42.299 "O sons of so-and-so! 00:01:42.299 --> 00:01:43.299 To me!" 00:01:43.299 --> 00:01:45.299 And as they rallied around him, 00:01:45.299 --> 00:01:46.299 He would cry out: 00:01:46.299 --> 00:01:48.299 "Flee! Remember Allah's favour unto you when there came against you hosts, and We sent against them a great wind and hosts ye could not see. And Allah is ever Seer of what ye do.” (33:9) 00:02:46.719 --> 00:02:49.909 And the two Sheikhs narrated in their Sahihs 00:02:49.909 --> 00:02:53.909 On the authority of 'Abdullah ibn Abi Awfa, may Allah be pleased with them both, that he said: 00:02:53.909 --> 00:02:56.909 The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, supplicated 00:02:56.909 --> 00:02:59.909 On the Day of the Confederates against the polytheists, saying: 00:02:59.909 --> 00:03:02.909 "O Allah, Revealer of the Book, 00:03:02.909 --> 00:03:04.909 Swift in taking account, 00:03:04.909 --> 00:03:06.909 Defeat the confederates! 00:03:06.909 --> 00:03:09.909 O Allah, defeat them and shake them!" 00:03:09.909 --> 00:03:14.069 And Imam Ahmad narrated in his Musnad with a weak chain of transmission, 00:03:14.069 --> 00:03:17.069 Yet it possesses corroborating reports that strengthen it, 00:03:17.069 --> 00:03:21.069 On the authority of Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, that he said: 00:03:21.069 --> 00:03:23.069 We said on the Day of the Trench: 00:03:23.069 --> 00:03:25.069 "O Messenger of Allah, 00:03:25.069 --> 00:03:27.069 Is there anything we should say? 00:03:27.069 --> 00:03:30.069 For hearts have reached the throats." 00:03:30.069 --> 00:03:34.139 So the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, replied: 00:03:34.139 --> 00:03:35.139 "Yes: 00:03:35.139 --> 00:03:39.139 'O Allah, conceal our faults and quell our fears.'" 00:03:39.139 --> 00:03:41.139 He said: 00:03:41.139 --> 00:03:45.139 "Then Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, struck the faces of His enemies with the wind, 00:03:45.139 --> 00:03:51.569 And Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, routed them by the wind." 00:03:51.569 --> 00:03:57.569 The Dispatch of Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman, may Allah be pleased with them both, to the Confederates. 00:03:57.569 --> 00:04:01.340 Then the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, dispatched 00:04:01.340 --> 00:04:05.340 Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman, may Allah be pleased with them both, 00:04:05.340 --> 00:04:07.340 To bring him intelligence of the confederates 00:04:07.340 --> 00:04:10.340 After the violent wind had battered them. 00:04:10.340 --> 00:04:13.530 For Imam Muslim narrated in his Sahih 00:04:13.530 --> 00:04:17.529 On the authority of Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman, may Allah be pleased with them both, who said: 00:04:17.529 --> 00:04:21.529 "I remember being with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, 00:04:21.529 --> 00:04:30.660 On the night of the Confederates, when we were struck by a severe wind and biting cold; so the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said: 00:04:30.660 --> 00:04:36.660 'Is there no man who will bring me news of the enemy, and whom Allah will make to be with me on the Day of Resurrection?' 00:04:36.660 --> 00:04:45.660 But we remained silent, and none of us answered him. Then he said: 'Is there no man who will bring us news of the enemy, 00:04:45.660 --> 00:04:53.660 Whom Allah will make to be with me on the Day of Resurrection?' Yet we remained silent, and none of us answered him. Then he said: 00:04:53.660 --> 00:04:59.660 'Is there no man who will bring us news of the enemy, whom Allah will make to be with me on the Day of Resurrection?' 00:04:59.660 --> 00:05:08.660 But we remained silent, and none of us answered him. So he said: 'Stand up, O Hudhayfah, and bring us news of the enemy.' 00:05:08.660 --> 00:05:12.660 Finding myself called by name, I had no choice but to stand. 00:05:12.660 --> 00:05:16.660 He said: 'Go and bring me news of the enemy, 00:05:16.660 --> 00:05:18.660 And do not alarm them against me.' 00:05:18.660 --> 00:05:21.819 So when I departed from his presence, 00:05:21.819 --> 00:05:24.819 It felt as though I were walking in a warm bath, 00:05:24.819 --> 00:05:26.819 Until I reached them. 00:05:26.819 --> 00:05:30.819 There I saw Abu Sufyan warming his back by the fire, 00:05:30.819 --> 00:05:33.819 So I notched an arrow into the belly of the bow, 00:05:33.819 --> 00:05:35.819 Intending to shoot him, 00:05:35.819 --> 00:05:39.819 But then I recalled the words of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him: 00:05:39.819 --> 00:05:41.819 'And do not alarm them against me.' 00:05:41.819 --> 00:05:44.819 Had I shot him, I would surely have hit him. 00:05:44.819 --> 00:05:48.980 Then I returned, still walking as if in a warm bath. 00:05:48.980 --> 00:05:52.980 When I reached him, reported the news of the enemy, and finished, 00:05:52.980 --> 00:05:53.980 I began to shiver, 00:05:53.980 --> 00:05:55.980 Meaning the piercing cold overtook me. 00:05:55.980 --> 00:06:00.009 So the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, covered me 00:06:00.009 --> 00:06:04.009 With the excess of a cloak he was wearing and praying in. 00:06:04.009 --> 00:06:07.040 I remained asleep until morning arrived, 00:06:07.040 --> 00:06:09.069 And when morning came, he said: 00:06:09.069 --> 00:06:14.180 'Rise, O deep sleeper!'" 00:06:14.180 --> 00:06:18.180 The Return of the Prophet, peace be upon him, 00:06:18.180 --> 00:06:22.759 And His Companions to Their Homes. 00:06:22.759 --> 00:06:25.759 The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, 00:06:25.759 --> 00:06:28.759 And his noble Companions returned to their homes, 00:06:28.759 --> 00:06:32.759 After the confederates had retreated to their own lands. 00:06:32.759 --> 00:06:35.759 And Allah, Exalted is He, spoke the truth when He says: 00:06:35.759 --> 00:06:40.759 “And Allah repulsed the disbelievers in their wrath; they gained no good. Allah averted their attack from the believers. Allah is ever Strong, Mighty.” (33:25) 00:06:40.759 --> 00:06:44.759 "And Allah spared the believers the battle." 00:06:44.759 --> 00:06:48.759 “And Allah repulsed the disbelievers in their wrath; they gained no good. Allah averted their attack from the believers. Allah is ever Strong, Mighty.” (33:25) 00:06:48.759 --> 00:06:50.920 Al-Hafiz Ibn Kathir said: 00:06:50.920 --> 00:06:54.920 "Had Allah not made His Messenger, peace be upon him, 00:06:54.920 --> 00:06:56.920 A mercy to the worlds, 00:06:56.920 --> 00:07:02.920 This wind would have been more devastating to them than the barren wind sent against 'Ad. 00:07:02.920 --> 00:07:05.920 But Allah, Exalted is He, said:" 00:07:05.920 --> 00:07:09.920 “But Allah would not punish them while thou wast with them, nor will He punish them while they seek forgiveness.” (8:33) 00:07:09.920 --> 00:07:13.920 "Thus He unleashed against them an air (wind) that scattered their unity, 00:07:13.920 --> 00:07:16.920 Just as the sole cause of their gathering had been base desires (hawa). 00:07:16.920 --> 00:07:19.920 They were a motley mix from diverse tribes, 00:07:19.920 --> 00:07:21.920 Factions and disparate groups; 00:07:21.920 --> 00:07:26.920 Hence it was fitting that He send against them the wind that tore their coalition apart 00:07:26.920 --> 00:07:31.920 And turned them back frustrated and ruined in their wrath and fury, 00:07:31.920 --> 00:07:33.920 Having attained no good whatsoever: 00:07:33.920 --> 00:07:37.920 Neither in this world, in terms of the victory and spoils they had craved, 00:07:37.920 --> 00:07:39.920 Nor in the Hereafter, 00:07:39.920 --> 00:07:46.920 Because of the heavy sins they incurred by openly confronting the Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, with hostility, 00:07:46.920 --> 00:07:50.920 Plotting to kill him and annihilate his army. 00:07:50.920 --> 00:07:54.920 And whoever resolves upon a deed and confirms that intent with action, 00:07:54.920 --> 00:07:57.920 Is in reality treated as one who perpetrated it." 00:07:57.920 --> 00:08:00.920 And Imam al-Bukhari narrated in his Sahih 00:08:00.920 --> 00:08:04.920 On the authority of Sulayman ibn Surad, may Allah be pleased with him, that he said: 00:08:04.920 --> 00:08:10.920 I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, say when the confederates were repelled from him: 00:08:10.920 --> 00:08:15.920 "Now we shall raid them, and they will not raid us; we shall march out to them." 00:08:15.920 --> 00:08:17.949 Al-Hafiz said in al-Fath: 00:08:17.949 --> 00:08:21.949 "In this hadith lies a prominent sign among the signs of prophethood; 00:08:21.949 --> 00:08:26.949 For the Prophet, peace be upon him, set out for 'Umrah the following year, 00:08:26.949 --> 00:08:29.949 Whereupon Quraysh barred him from the Sacred House, 00:08:29.949 --> 00:08:33.950 And a truce was established between them until they breached it, 00:08:33.950 --> 00:08:36.950 Which became the direct cause for the Conquest of Makkah. 00:08:36.950 --> 00:08:43.080 Thus, the matter unfolded precisely as the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, foretold." 00:08:43.080 --> 00:08:47.080 An Abridged Prophetic Biography (Seerah). 00:08:47.080 --> 00:08:54.080 Though the world's longing for one another may endure, 00:08:54.080 --> 00:09:00.080 The longing for you transcends all bounds. 00:09:00.080 --> 00:09:08.009 May Allah send blessings upon you whenever the call to prayer is raised, 00:09:08.009 --> 00:09:16.710 And as long as lips move with remembrance of the Everlasting.
