Pause. Learn about the Companions, the scholars, and the prominent figures. A new challenge: Who am I? I am one of the Muhajirun (Emigrant) Companions. I was a leader among the prominent masters of Makkah. I am the paternal uncle of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him. And his foster brother. I was among those closest to him. I was known for my courage and generosity. I was one of the most formidable youths of Quraysh. And the most resolute among them. I would fight wielding two swords. To the point that people marveled at my courage and strength. The Muslims bestowed upon me the title: The Lion of Allah and His Messenger. I participated with the Muslims in the Battle of Badr. I killed a number of the polytheists and their leaders. Among them was Tu'aymah Ibn 'Adi. When the Battle of Uhud arrived, I went out with the Prophet, peace be upon him, In defense of the religion. Jubayr Ibn Mut'im Had summoned a slave of his from Abyssinia, Known as Wahshi. He was skilled at throwing the spear, as the Abyssinians are. He rarely missed his target. He said to him, "Go out with the people," And incited him to kill me. To avenge the death of his uncle, Tu'aymah. He promised to set him free if he succeeded. Whenever Wahshi passed by Hind Bint 'Utbah, Or she passed by him, She would say, "Come, O Abu Dasmah, Heal your heart and heal mine," Meaning she was inciting him to kill me. When the armies met and the fighting began, I surged among them like a lion. I fought with the valor of heroes. I fought that day with two swords. I killed a group of the polytheists. Wahshi was waiting for me and lying in wait. He saw me moving through the people like a grey camel, Cutting through the ranks with my sword, With nothing able to stand against me. He hid behind a rock. While I was in that state, Siba' Ibn 'Abd al-'Uzza advanced toward me. When I saw him, I said to him, "Come here, you son of the one who circumcises women!" I struck him a blow that did not miss his head. As I turned away from him, I stumbled. My armor shifted, exposing my abdomen. Wahshi caught sight of me. He threw his spear at me. The spear struck my lower abdomen, And passed through between my legs. I fell. I tried to rise toward the one who had thrown it at me. When Wahshi saw me rising toward him despite my injury, He said, "I saw death." But I was overcome, And I fell before I could reach him. My soul departed. Then the polytheists came and mutilated my body. The Prophet, peace be upon him, was deeply affected When he saw me. He wept and said, "This is the Master of Martyrs." Then I was buried with my sister's son, 'Abdullah Ibn Jahsh, may Allah be pleased with him, in one grave. So, who am I? Share your answers with us in the comments below the video.
