Solve this riddle: Who am I?
I am one of the Companions from the Muhajirun.
I am one of the ten promised Paradise.
I was among the bravest of people in battle.
I witnessed the Battle of Uhud with the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.
I was among those who stood firm with him that day.
When the people fled.
I pledged allegiance to him that day to fight to the death.
I defended him.
Until my fingers were severed and my hand became paralyzed.
During the battle.
The Prophet, peace be upon him, was left alone.
And I was with him.
Along with eleven men from the Ansar.
A group from the army of Quraysh caught up with us.
Seeking to kill the Prophet, peace be upon him.
So he, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:
"Who will repel them from us and be granted Paradise?"
Or: "He will be my companion in Paradise."
I said: "I will."
But the Prophet, peace be upon him, refused to let me go out to them.
And he said to me:
"Stay where you are."
Then a man from the Ansar said:
"I will."
He said: "You go."
He fought them until he was killed.
Then they overwhelmed him again.
So he, peace be upon him, said:
"Who will repel them from us and be granted Paradise?"
Or: "He will be my companion in Paradise."
I said: "I will."
He said: "Stay where you are."
Then a man from the Ansar said:
"I will."
He said: "You go."
He fought them until he was killed.
This continued.
Until no one remained with the Prophet, peace be upon him.
Except for me.
Then the Prophet, peace be upon him, said:
"Our companions have not treated us fairly."
Then the people overwhelmed him.
He said: "Who will repel them from us and be granted Paradise?"
Or: "He will be my companion in Paradise."
I said: "I will."
The Prophet, peace be upon him, said:
"You go."
So I fought with the strength of all eleven of them.
Until my fingers were severed.
I cried out: "Hiss!" (in pain).
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:
"Had you said 'Bismillah' (In the name of Allah),
The angels would have lifted you up while the people were watching."
When the Prophet, peace be upon him, wanted
To climb a rock in the mountain pass,
He could not due to the severity of his wounds.
So I carried him on my back until he climbed it.
He gave me the glad tidings and said:
"Paradise has become mandatory for you."
One day, the Prophet, peace be upon him, said to his Companions:
"Whoever is pleased to look at a martyr walking upon the earth,
Let him look at this man."
And he pointed to me.
