The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) addressed the people on the Day of Sacrifice,

"Indeed, time has completed its cycle and returned to its original state as on the day Allah created the heavens and the earth.

The year consists of twelve months,

Three consecutive ones—

When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) finished slaughtering his sacrificial animal and delivering his sermon on the Day of Sacrifice,
