Allah the Exalted says:
“Verily in the messenger of Allah ye have a good example for him who looketh unto Allah and the Last Day, and remembereth Allah much.” (33:21)

Ibn al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy on him, said:
Since the happiness of the servant in both this world and the next
is contingent upon the guidance of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him,
it is incumbent upon everyone who seeks to be sincere to themselves and desires their own salvation and happiness
to possess such knowledge of his guidance, his Prophetic biography, and his affairs
as will remove them from the ranks of those who are ignorant of him,
and include them among the number of his followers.
In this regard, people vary between those who take little, those who take much, and those who are deprived.
Bounty is in the hand of Allah; He grants it to whom He wills,
and Allah is the Possessor of Great Bounty.
