Knowledge of truth and falsehood means knowing the path of the believers in creed, rulings, and conduct.

And knowing the path of the criminals, their false notions, and their methods of deceiving Islam.

All of this is encompassed in the Qur'an and the authentic Sunnah.

Allah the Almighty said concerning the path of the believers:

“And whoso opposeth the messenger after the guidance (of Allah) hath been manifested unto him, and followeth other than the believer's way, We appoint for him that unto which he himself hath turned, and expose him unto hell - a hapless journey's end!” (4:115)
