Rather, it is obligatory with the infidels among the People of the Book and others
It is what our Lord Almighty directed us to in Surat Al-Imrana by saying:
Say, O People of the Book, come to a common word between us and you
We should not worship anyone but God
We do not associate anything with Him
Do not take one another as lords other than God
If they turn away, then say, “Bear witness that we are Muslims.”
