The Garden of Guidance. Allah, Mighty and Majestic, said: “Whose hearts fear when Allah is mentioned, and the patient of whatever may befall them, and those who establish worship and who spend of that We have bestowed on them.” (22:35) And on the authority of Anas Ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "Indeed, Allah said: 'If I afflict My servant in his two beloved things and he remains patient, I will compensate him for them with Paradise.'" He meant his two eyes. Related by al-Bukhari. An insightful benefit: Abu 'Abd al-Rahman al-Maghazili (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "I visited an afflicted man in the Hijaz and asked, 'How do you find yourself?' He replied, 'I find His granting of well-being far greater than what He has afflicted me with, and I find His blessings upon me far too numerous for us to count.' I said, 'Do you feel severe pain from what you are enduring?' He wept and then said: 'My soul has been consoled from the pain I suffer by what my Master has promised to the patient, in terms of perfect rewards during the distress of a dire Day.' He said: Then he fainted and remained unconscious for a while. When he regained consciousness, he said: 'I truly believe that the people of patience will have an honorable standing tomorrow on the Day of Resurrection, surpassed by no reward of any other deed, except for contentment with Allah, the Exalted.'"
