If a contradiction appears between reason and revelation,
then either the reasoning is flawed and not sound,
or the transmitted text is not authentic.
When a contradiction is perceived, revelation takes precedence.
It is mandatory to believe in what revelation establishes,
even if the intellect is bewildered in its understanding.
For creed may indeed contain matters that baffle the intellect,
yet it never contains anything that the intellect deems impossible.
Nothing from the Book or the authentic Sunnah is contradicted,
even if it pertains to solitary hadiths,
by reason, analogy,
spiritual intuition, or mystical unveiling,
nor by the statement of any sheikh or imam,
or anything of that nature.
