The Garden of Guidance.
Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, said:
"O you who have believed,
seek help through patience and prayer.
Indeed, Allah is with the patient."
“And call not those who are slain in the way of Allah "dead." Nay, they are living, only ye perceive not.” (2:154)
"Rather, they are alive, but you do not perceive it."
"And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger,"
“And surely We shall try you with something of fear and hunger, and loss of wealth and lives and crops; but give glad tidings to the steadfast,” (2:155)
"and give good tidings to the patient,"
“Who say, when a misfortune striketh them: Lo! we are Allah's and lo! unto Him we are returning.” (2:156)
"who say, 'Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.'"
“Such are they on whom are blessings from their Lord, and mercy. Such are the rightly guided.” (2:157)
"and it is they who are the [rightly] guided."
And His Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:
"O people,
whichever person or believer is afflicted with a calamity,
let them take solace in their calamity through [losing] me over any calamity that befalls them through anyone else.
For no one of my Ummah will ever suffer an affliction after me
that is more severe upon them than their bereavement of me."
Narrated by Ibn Majah.
And what calamity could be greater or harsher than the death of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him?
For he, peace and blessings be upon him, was a safeguard against divine punishment,
and his Sunnah is truly a light by which Allah brings people out from darkness into light by His leave.
Performing prayer on time is among the best of deeds and the most beloved to Allah, Majestic is His Glory,
yet maintaining it consistently requires inner striving and steadfast perseverance.
And whoever strives for the sake of Allah, Allah guides them to His paths, prepares their eternal abode, is pleased with them, and makes them well-pleased.
Just as prayer also heals souls that have been stricken with sorrow.
