WEBVTT 00:00:01.360 --> 00:00:04.360 Pause. 00:00:04.360 --> 00:00:12.140 Get to know the Companions, the scholars, and the prominent figures. 00:00:12.140 --> 00:00:16.140 A new challenge: Who am I? 00:00:16.140 --> 00:00:22.829 I am one of the Companions from the Ansar. 00:00:22.829 --> 00:00:28.829 I witnessed the Battle of Uhud and all subsequent campaigns alongside the Prophet, peace be upon him. 00:00:28.829 --> 00:00:35.829 I initially failed to join the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, in the Battle of Tabuk. 00:00:35.829 --> 00:00:41.859 Then, I caught up with him while he was in Tabuk, and he prayed for my well-being. 00:00:41.859 --> 00:00:49.859 The Prophet, peace be upon him, set out to confront the Byzantines in Rajab of the ninth year of the Hijra. 00:00:49.859 --> 00:00:55.859 This was in a campaign known as the Battle of Tabuk, also referred to as the Battle of Hardship. 00:00:55.859 --> 00:00:59.859 It was so named due to the extreme difficulty and severity of the circumstances surrounding it. 00:00:59.859 --> 00:01:06.859 These included intense heat, scarcity of water, the great distance, and a lack of wealth and mounts. 00:01:06.859 --> 00:01:14.859 Despite the difficulty and severity of this campaign, the Companions responded to the call of the Prophet, peace be upon him. 00:01:14.859 --> 00:01:23.859 They rushed forth for jihad, traversing the vast desert amidst scorching heat and rugged terrain. 00:01:25.180 --> 00:01:32.269 As for me, I had lagged behind and did not accompany the Prophet, peace be upon him, and his Companions. 00:01:32.269 --> 00:01:39.269 Whenever I walked through the streets of Medina, I found no one there except those known for their hypocrisy. 00:01:39.269 --> 00:01:43.269 Or those who were excused by Allah. 00:01:43.269 --> 00:01:51.340 I returned to my family on a hot day and found my two wives in their respective huts in our orchard. 00:01:51.340 --> 00:02:00.340 Each of them had sprinkled water in her hut, cooled water for me, and prepared food. 00:02:00.340 --> 00:02:06.340 When I stood at the door of the hut, I looked at my wives and what they had prepared for me. 00:02:06.340 --> 00:02:14.340 I said to myself, "The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, is out in the sun, the wind, and the heat." 00:02:14.340 --> 00:02:20.340 "While I am in the cool shade, with food prepared and a beautiful wife." 00:02:20.340 --> 00:02:31.340 "This is not fair; by Allah, I will not enter the hut of either of you until I catch up with the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him." 00:02:31.340 --> 00:02:42.340 I asked them to prepare provisions for me, which they did, then I mounted my camel and set out in pursuit of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him. 00:02:42.340 --> 00:02:51.430 On the way, I met 'Umayr ibn Wahb, may Allah be pleased with him, who was also heading toward the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him. 00:02:51.430 --> 00:03:00.430 We traveled together until we neared Tabuk, at which point I said to 'Umayr ibn Wahb, "I have committed a sin." 00:03:00.430 --> 00:03:07.430 "So, it would be better if you stayed behind me until I reach the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him." 00:03:07.430 --> 00:03:15.430 He did so, and when I approached the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, while he was encamped at Tabuk. 00:03:15.430 --> 00:03:24.430 The people said, "There is a rider approaching on the road," and the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said: 00:03:24.430 --> 00:03:33.430 "Be Abu so-and-so," referring to me, and they replied, "O Messenger of Allah, by Allah, it is indeed Abu so-and-so." 00:03:33.430 --> 00:03:41.430 When I knelt my camel, I approached and greeted the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him. 00:03:41.430 --> 00:03:51.560 He said to me, "You almost perished," so I told the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, my story. 00:03:51.560 --> 00:03:57.780 He spoke kindly to me and prayed for my well-being; so, who am I? 00:04:07.979 --> 00:04:15.979 Subscribe to the channel and leave your comments for the release of the next episode, insha'Allah.
