A new challenge from me
I am one of the companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, from Khuza’a
I converted to Islam in the seventh year of the Hijra
I pledged allegiance to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace
I have not touched my private parts with my right hand since I pledged allegiance to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace
I participated in the raids that I carried out with him, peace and blessings be upon him
She was known for her worship and asceticism in this world
Enjoining good and forbidding evil
And sedition was removed
I worked hard to worship
Until the angels began to greet me
My father came with me to the city one day
He was still in polytheism
The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said to him
O hippocampus
How many gods do you worship today?
My father said
Seven
Six on the ground
And one in the sky
He, may God bless him and grant him peace, said
Which one is your desire and awe?
He said
The one in heaven
He said
O hippocampus
As for you, if you convert to Islam
I taught you two words that will benefit you
So my father converted to Islam
And he said
O Messenger of God
Teach me the two words you promised me
He, may God bless him and grant him peace, said
Say
Oh God, inspire me to guide me
And protect me from the evil of myself
Then I had an illness in my body
So I was patient with it for thirty years
It did not prevent me from continuing worship
Standing, sitting and lying down
And if my brothers visit me and comfort me in my affliction
I told them
If I like things to myself
I love her to God
The angels greeted me
I am in this state
When I got sick to recover from the disease
The angels left peace upon me
Then I left the emptiness
Then the angels greeted me again
The Commander of the Faithful, Omar bin Al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him, used to honor me
He puts me ahead of others
Then he sent me to the people of Basra
To teach them and understand them in matters of their religion
So people knew my virtue
A group of them expressed this to me and said:
None of the Companions of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, came to Basra more favorably than you
However
I was crying a lot and fearing God Almighty
And I always say
I wish I were ashes blown away by the wind
