A new challenge: Who am I?
I am one of the Companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, from the Ansar.
I witnessed the Battle of Badr and all other battles alongside the Prophet, peace be upon him.
The Prophet, peace be upon him, appointed me over Khaybar after its conquest.
I used to bring him its dates.
I was present with the Muslims at the Battle of Badr.
The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, was straightening the ranks before the battle began.
In his hand was an arrow without feathers, which he used to align the ranks.
He passed by me while I was standing slightly ahead of the line.
He poked me in the stomach with the arrow and said,
"Straighten the rank."
I said, "O Messenger of Allah, you have hurt me."
"Allah has sent you with the truth, so allow me to seek retribution from you."
The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, uncovered his stomach for me.
And said, "Take your retribution."
I embraced him and kissed his stomach.
He asked me, "What prompted you to do this?"
I replied, "O Messenger of Allah,
the situation you see has arrived,
and I am not certain of surviving the battle.
So I desired that my final act
would be for my skin to touch your skin."
The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, prayed for my well-being.
And he said to me, "Straighten the rank."
I fought valiantly in that battle.
And I took captive Khalid Ibn Hisham al-Makhzumi,
the brother of Abu Jahl.
I brought him to the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.
And he placed him among the captives.
