So fight the minions of the devil. Yet if a happy thing befalleth them they say: This is from Allah; and if an evil thing befalleth them they say: This is of thy doing (O Muhammad). Say (unto them): All is from Allah. What is amiss with these people that they come not nigh to understand a happening?” (4:78) 00:05:58.199 --> 00:06:06.199 ﴾What is the matter with these people that they scarcely understand any discourse?﴿ 00:06:06.199 --> 00:06:11.189 Wherever you may be, death will overtake you and you will die; 00:06:11.189 --> 00:06:16.189 so do not despair of death and grow too weak to face your enemy, 00:06:16.189 --> 00:06:19.189 for death will surely reach your souls, 00:06:19.189 --> 00:06:23.189 even if you fortify yourselves against it within towering strongholds. 00:06:23.189 --> 00:06:26.189 And if prosperity, victory, and conquest come their way, 00:06:26.189 --> 00:06:30.189 they say, "This is from Allah and by His decree." 00:06:30.189 --> 00:06:35.189 But if hardship in the form of defeat, wounds, and pain strikes them, 00:06:35.189 --> 00:06:38.189 they say, "This is from Muhammad; 00:06:38.189 --> 00:06:41.189 he mismanaged the affair and exercised poor judgment." 00:06:41.189 --> 00:06:44.319 Say, O Muhammad, to these people: 00:06:44.319 --> 00:06:46.319 "All of it is from Allah." 00:06:47.319 --> 00:06:51.319 What is the matter with these people that they scarcely understand 00:06:51.319 --> 00:06:53.319 the reality of what you convey to them: 00:06:53.319 --> 00:06:57.319 that whatever strikes them of good or ill 00:06:57.319 --> 00:06:59.699 is ultimately from Allah? 00:06:59.699 --> 00:07:05.699 “Whatever of good befalleth thee (O man) it is from Allah, and whatever of ill befalleth thee it is from thyself. We have sent thee (Muhammad) as a messenger unto mankind and Allah is sufficient as Witness.” (4:79) 00:07:05.699 --> 00:07:12.699 “Whatever of good befalleth thee (O man) it is from Allah, and whatever of ill befalleth thee it is from thyself. Allah recordeth what they plan by night. So oppose them and put thy trust in Allah.
