In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
A Summary of the Prophetic biography (Seerah).
The dispatching of Mus'ab and Ibn Umm Maktum.
May Allah be pleased with them both, to Medina.
The Hajj season concluded.
And the people departed, returning to their lands.
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, sent.
With them Mus'ab Ibn 'Umayr.
And Ibn Umm Maktum, may Allah be pleased with them both.
He commanded them to teach the Ansar the Qur'an.
And to teach them Islam.
And to give them understanding in the religion (fiqh).
Imam al-Bukhari narrated in his Sahih.
On the authority of al-Bara' Ibn 'Azib al-Ansari, may Allah be pleased with him, who said:
The first of the companions of the Prophet, peace be upon him, to arrive among us.
Were Mus'ab Ibn 'Umayr and Ibn Umm Maktum, may Allah be pleased with them both.
They began to teach us the Qur'an.
Through their efforts, many people from the Aws and the Khazraj embraced Islam.
Among them were Sa'd Ibn Mu'adh and Usayd Ibn Hudayr, may Allah be pleased with them both.
And with their conversion that day, the entire tribe of Banu 'Abd al-Ashhal embraced Islam.
Both men and women.
Except for al-Usayrim, 'Amr Ibn Thabit Ibn Waqsh, may Allah be pleased with him.
For his conversion was delayed until the day of Uhud.
He embraced Islam then and fought.
He was martyred on the day of Uhud, may Allah be pleased with him.
Yet he had never performed a single prostration to Allah.
The Prophet, peace be upon him, was informed about him.
The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
He is indeed among the people of Paradise.
