Pause and identify the Companion, scholar, or prominent figure. A new challenge: who am I? I am one of the younger Companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. My maternal uncle is the great archer Sa'd Ibn Abi Waqqas, may Allah be pleased with him. I was eager to meet the Prophet, peace be upon him, and learn from him. I sat with him more than a hundred times and narrated hadiths from him. I prayed more than two thousand prayers with him. His prayer was similar to the prayer of people today. However, he would lighten the recitation. In the dawn prayer, he would recite Surah al-Waqi'ah and similar chapters. I once saw the Prophet, peace be upon him, on a moonlit night. He was wearing a red garment. I began looking at him and then at the moon. To me, he was more beautiful than the moon. The Prophet, peace be upon him, would pass by us while we were young boys. We would be playing in the alleys of Medina. He would stroke our cheeks. One day he passed by. He stroked my cheek. The cheek he stroked became more beautiful than the other. So, who am I?
