They will come unto thee on foot and on every lean camel; they will come from every deep ravine,” (22:27) 00:00:57.420 --> 00:01:11.420 "That they may witness benefits for themselves and mention the name of Allah on known days," 00:01:11.420 --> 00:01:18.420 "Over what He has provided for them of [sacrificial] animals." 00:01:18.420 --> 00:01:25.790 "So eat of them and feed the miserable and poor." 00:01:25.790 --> 00:01:33.790 "Then let them end their untidiness and fulfill their vows," 00:01:33.790 --> 00:01:38.790 "And perform tawaf around the Ancient House." 00:01:38.790 --> 00:01:47.500 There is no doubt that this was a magnificent opportunity to perform the rites of Hajj with the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, 00:01:47.500 --> 00:01:52.500 And to draw from his guidance and Sunnah during this great journey. 00:01:52.500 --> 00:02:02.500 Therefore, the Companions and the female Companions, may Allah be pleased with them all, were eager to witness the Farewell Hajj with the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. 00:02:02.500 --> 00:02:06.590 Jabir Ibn ‘Abdullah, may Allah be pleased with them both, said: 00:02:06.590 --> 00:02:13.590 "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, stayed for nine years without performing Hajj." 00:02:13.590 --> 00:02:18.590 "Then, in the tenth year, he announced to the people that the Messenger of Allah would be performing Hajj." 00:02:18.590 --> 00:02:21.590 "Consequently, a great number of people arrived in Madinah," 00:02:21.590 --> 00:02:26.590 "All of them seeking to follow the example of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him," 00:02:26.590 --> 00:02:30.330 "And to act just as he acted." 00:02:30.330 --> 00:02:34.330 Among the examples of the female Companions' eagerness to attend the Farewell Hajj 00:02:34.330 --> 00:02:39.330 Is what occurred with Duba‘ah bint al-Zubayr Ibn ‘Abd al-Muttalib, may Allah be pleased with her, 00:02:39.330 --> 00:02:43.330 The cousin of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. 00:02:43.330 --> 00:02:46.330 She was ill at the time of Hajj, 00:02:46.330 --> 00:02:50.330 And she feared that she would be unable to perform the rites. 00:02:50.330 --> 00:02:54.330 She went to the house of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, 00:02:54.330 --> 00:02:56.330 But did not find him there. 00:02:56.330 --> 00:02:59.330 When the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, learned 00:02:59.330 --> 00:03:02.330 Of her coming to his house when he was not there, 00:03:02.330 --> 00:03:04.330 He went to her home. 00:03:04.330 --> 00:03:07.330 When he entered upon her, he said to her: 00:03:07.330 --> 00:03:10.330 "Perhaps you intended to perform Hajj?" 00:03:10.330 --> 00:03:14.330 She replied, "By Allah, I feel nothing but pain." 00:03:14.330 --> 00:03:16.330 "I am a woman who is physically heavy," 00:03:16.330 --> 00:03:18.330 "And I desire to perform Hajj," 00:03:18.330 --> 00:03:21.330 "But I am a sickly woman," 00:03:21.330 --> 00:03:23.330 "And I fear I may be prevented [from completing it]." 00:03:23.330 --> 00:03:25.330 "So what do you command me to do?" 00:03:25.330 --> 00:03:28.360 He said, "Enter into the state of ihram for Hajj," 00:03:28.360 --> 00:03:32.360 "And make the condition: 'My place of exiting ihram is wherever You prevent me.'" 00:03:32.360 --> 00:03:35.360 Thus, the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, taught her 00:03:35.360 --> 00:03:39.360 How to act in such a state of illness, 00:03:39.360 --> 00:03:42.360 And the fear of being unable to complete the rites, 00:03:42.360 --> 00:03:44.360 While still possessing the desire to perform Hajj. 00:03:44.360 --> 00:03:47.360 It was from the mercy of Allah toward her 00:03:47.360 --> 00:03:50.360 That she was able to complete the Hajj in its entirety. 00:03:50.360 --> 00:03:53.000 So, if you, my sister pilgrim, 00:03:53.000 --> 00:03:55.000 Are complaining of illness, 00:03:55.000 --> 00:03:57.000 And you fear that you might be prevented, 00:03:57.000 --> 00:04:00.000 And thus be unable to complete the Hajj, 00:04:00.000 --> 00:04:03.000 Then in the story of Duba‘ah bint al-Zubayr, 00:04:03.000 --> 00:04:05.000 You have an example and a way out. 00:04:05.000 --> 00:04:08.669 When the time determined by the Prophet, 00:04:08.669 --> 00:04:11.669 Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, for Hajj arrived, 00:04:11.669 --> 00:04:14.669 The great Hajj caravan set out 00:04:14.669 --> 00:04:16.670 After the Dhuhr prayer, 00:04:16.670 --> 00:04:19.670 Guided by the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, 00:04:19.670 --> 00:04:22.670 With five nights remaining in Dhu al-Qa‘dah, 00:04:22.670 --> 00:04:26.670 Just as our Mother ‘A’ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, informed us. 00:04:26.670 --> 00:04:28.670 That is, on Saturday, 00:04:28.670 --> 00:04:32.670 The twenty-fourth or twenty-fifth of Dhu al-Qa‘dah. 00:04:32.670 --> 00:04:36.670 Our Mother ‘A’ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, was precise 00:04:36.670 --> 00:04:39.670 Regarding the number of nights remaining in the month of Dhu al-Qa‘dah 00:04:39.670 --> 00:04:45.410 Because she narrated this after the month had concluded, 00:04:45.410 --> 00:04:49.410 And his departure, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was at the end of the month. 00:04:49.410 --> 00:04:51.410 This was contrary to the practices of the Age of Ignorance, 00:04:51.410 --> 00:04:54.410 In how they would welcome the beginnings of months for their activities, 00:04:54.410 --> 00:04:56.410 And how they would direct their affairs accordingly, 00:04:56.410 --> 00:05:00.410 Avoiding other times out of fear of shortening their lives. 00:05:00.410 --> 00:05:04.410 So Allah sent His Prophet to abrogate all of that. 00:05:04.410 --> 00:05:07.410 He did not concern himself with the waning of a month or its beginning, 00:05:07.410 --> 00:05:10.410 Nor with the moon’s eclipse or its fullness. 00:05:10.410 --> 00:05:15.410 He set out on his travels whenever it was feasible for him, 00:05:15.410 --> 00:05:19.410 And he paid no heed to their superstitions or false assumptions. 00:05:19.410 --> 00:05:22.410 He entrusted his affair to Allah the Almighty, 00:05:22.410 --> 00:05:25.410 And did not associate anyone else with Him in his actions. 00:05:25.410 --> 00:05:28.410 So Allah supported him and granted him victory. 00:05:28.410 --> 00:05:31.629 This opposition to the customs of the Age of Ignorance 00:05:31.629 --> 00:05:34.629 We will see in every detail of the Hajj rites, 00:05:34.629 --> 00:05:39.629 For it is an intended objective in this great act of worship. 00:05:39.629 --> 00:05:43.269 The Farewell Hajj caravan moved forward, 00:05:43.269 --> 00:05:46.269 Accompanied by feelings of veneration 00:05:46.269 --> 00:05:48.269 For this great act of worship, 00:05:48.269 --> 00:05:52.269 And for its days and the conditions associated with the pilgrims. 00:05:52.269 --> 00:05:56.300 Our Mother ‘A’ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, says: 00:05:56.300 --> 00:06:00.300 "We set out with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him," 00:06:00.300 --> 00:06:01.300 "In the months of Hajj," 00:06:01.300 --> 00:06:03.300 "And the nights of Hajj," 00:06:03.300 --> 00:06:05.300 "And the sacredness of Hajj," 00:06:05.300 --> 00:06:09.300 Meaning its times, its places, and its states. 00:06:09.300 --> 00:06:11.370 And so, O sister pilgrim, 00:06:11.370 --> 00:06:14.370 Your departure for Hajj should be such 00:06:14.370 --> 00:06:17.370 That it reflects veneration for this great act of worship, 00:06:17.370 --> 00:06:21.370 And for everything surrounding it related to it, 00:06:21.370 --> 00:06:23.370 Such as the months of Hajj: 00:06:23.370 --> 00:06:24.370 Shawwal, 00:06:24.370 --> 00:06:25.370 Dhu al-Qa‘dah, 00:06:25.370 --> 00:06:27.370 And Dhu al-Hijjah. 00:06:27.370 --> 00:06:30.370 These overlap with the Sacred Months 00:06:30.370 --> 00:06:32.370 Which Allah the Almighty has sanctified, 00:06:32.370 --> 00:06:35.370 “Lo! the number of the months with Allah is twelve months by Allah's ordinance in the day that He created the heavens and the earth. Four of them are sacred: that is the right religion. So wrong not yourselves in them. And wage war on all of the idolaters as they are waging war on all of you. And know that Allah is with those who keep their duty (unto Him).” (9:36) 00:07:07.459 --> 00:07:12.459 "And fight against the disbelievers collectively," 00:07:12.459 --> 00:07:18.459 "As they fight against you collectively." 00:07:18.459 --> 00:07:25.459 "And know that Allah is with the righteous." 00:07:25.459 --> 00:07:29.259 Part of your veneration for this act of worship 00:07:29.259 --> 00:07:32.259 Is to venerate the sacred boundaries of Allah within yourself, 00:07:32.259 --> 00:07:34.259 So you avoid the disobedience of Allah, 00:07:34.259 --> 00:07:38.259 And you consider falling into it or committing it as a grave matter in your soul. 00:07:38.259 --> 00:07:41.259 For the One who commanded you to obey Him, 00:07:41.259 --> 00:07:43.259 And promised you reward for it, 00:07:43.259 --> 00:07:46.259 Is the same One who forbade you from disobedience, 00:07:46.259 --> 00:07:48.259 And ordained punishment for it. 00:07:48.259 --> 00:07:50.360 Allah the Almighty says: 00:07:50.360 --> 00:07:56.389 “That (is the command). And whoso magnifieth the offerings consecrated to Allah, it surely is from devotion of the hearts,” (22:32) 00:07:56.389 --> 00:08:00.389 “That (is the command). And whoso magnifieth the offerings consecrated to Allah, it surely is from devotion of the hearts,” (22:32) 00:08:01.389 --> 00:08:07.389 "For you in them are benefits for a specified term." 00:08:07.389 --> 00:08:12.389 “Therein are benefits for you for an appointed term; and afterward they are brought for sacrifice unto the ancient House.” (22:33) 00:08:12.389 --> 00:08:16.000 Part of your veneration for the days of Hajj, 00:08:16.000 --> 00:08:19.000 The months of Hajj, and the Sacred Months, 00:08:19.000 --> 00:08:22.000 Is to comply with the saying of Allah the Almighty: 00:08:22.000 --> 00:08:28.000 "Hajj is [during] well-known months." 00:08:28.000 --> 00:08:32.000 “The pilgrimage is (in) the well-known months, and whoever is minded to perform the pilgrimage therein (let him remember that) there is (to be) no lewdness nor abuse nor angry conversation on the pilgrimage. And whatsoever good ye do Allah knoweth it. So make provision for yourselves (Hereafter); for the best provision is to ward off evil.
