Many people do not appreciate the blessing of well-being,

which is that trials and afflictions are averted from them before they strike them or land near their homes.

Then Satan comes to them, making them despise the state they are in,

so you see them becoming resentful, cursing time,

and reviling circumstances on the pretext that some of their desires were not fulfilled.

Yet, had they known what was averted from them, they would never have raised their heads from prostration.

Indeed, among the greatest forms of well-being is the heart's protection from hypocrisy,

and one's deeds from ostentation.
